When the train arrived at the station, all the students disembarked and boarded the carriages heading to Hogwarts. They made their way to the Great Hall and sat down at the tables of their respective houses.

Everyone was gathered for a new school year. The house selection was about to begin, followed by the typical speech from Dumbledore.

During his speech, Dumbledore mentioned that Professor Rubeus Hagrid was still on vacation and that Professor Grubbly-Plank would be temporarily taking his place. He also asked everyone to welcome the new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, Dolores Umbridge, who interrupted Dumbledore's speech to say a few words.

Many students smiled; it was evident that this woman had no idea how things worked at Hogwarts.

Dolores: Thank you, Headmaster, the professor said, smiling overly sweetly, for your kind words of welcome. She cleared her throat again (hem, hem) and continued.

Dolores: Well, I must say it's a pleasure to be back at Hogwarts, she smiled, revealing very pointed teeth. And to see such happy little faces looking at me.

Dolores: I'm very eager to meet all of you, and I'm sure we'll become good friends.

Professor Umbridge cleared her throat (hem, hem) again, but when she continued, some of the breathy quality had disappeared from her voice. She seemed much more direct, and her words had a monotonous tone of a rehearsed speech.

Dolores: The Minister of Magic has always considered the education of young witches and wizards to be of vital importance. The rare gifts with which you were born may not flourish unless nurtured and enhanced by careful instruction. The ancient skills, a privilege of the wizarding community, must be passed on to new generations, or they will be lost forever.

Dolores: The hidden treasure of magical knowledge accumulated by our ancestors must be preserved, supplemented, and polished by those called to the noble mission of teaching.

Dolores: Every headmaster and headmistress of Hogwarts has brought something new to the heavy task of leading this historic school, and so it should be, for without progress there will be stagnation and decay. However, progress for the sake of progress should not be encouraged, as our proven traditions rarely require patching. Thus, there must be a balance between the old and the new, between permanence and change, between tradition and innovation.

Sasuke found that speech irritating and tedious. After dinner, he retreated to the common room. He arrived at the door where his companions were, and the new password was announced for everyone: Salazar forever.

After being questioned by his friends about his vacation, they asked if the emo had found a betrothed at the party at Malfoy Manor. Many had seen him, but then he simply vanished. Many thought he had run off with some girl.

Tired, Sasuke ignored them and went to bed. The next day, he went to the Great Hall for breakfast. He received his new schedule and then left to attend his classes.
