At the Lovegood residence, Luna was preparing to go to Diagon Alley to buy her supplies with her father. She felt a bit sad because Sasuke and Zacharias wouldn't be joining them. Zacharias mentioned that he had already purchased his materials, and the emo said he had other things to do. During this time, she hadn't been able to speak with Ginny.

Father and daughter apparated to Diagon Alley and noticed that the place was not the same as before.

It looked different. The shop windows that once displayed spell books, potion ingredients, and cauldrons were now covered. In front of the windows, large posters from the Ministry of Magic covered the area, most of them featuring security warnings similar to the pamphlets the Ministry had been distributing throughout the summer. Some posters showed moving pictures of known Death Eaters who were still at large. Bellatrix Lestrange appeared on most of the posters. Other shops or homes had their windows and displays boarded up with wooden planks. The Florean Fortescue ice cream parlor was completely closed, as if the place had been abandoned.

On the other hand, a series of makeshift stalls had popped up along the street. The closest one, set up outside Flourish and Blotts under a striped and stained awning, had a cardboard sign taped to the front: "AMULETS: Effective against werewolves, Dementors, and Inferi."

Xenophilius: Come on, Luna, some amulets might be useful.

Luna: Yes, Dad.

Father and daughter bought some amulets and then entered Flourish and Blotts to purchase some books. While looking at the book list, Luna noticed Winky entering the shop.

Luna: Hello, Winky. Did you come alone, or are you with Sasuke?

Winky: Good morning, Mr. Lovegood, Miss Lovegood. My master couldn't come, so he asked me to buy his supplies.

Luna: I see. Then why don't you join us? We can shop together.

Winky: I don't want to be a bother, Miss.

Luna: It's not a bother, is it, Dad?

Xenophilius: Of course not, the more the merrier.

Winky had orders to obey both Luna and Zacharias.

After buying the books, Winky sent them home by mail. She had to pay extra for immediate shipping, but the emo had given enough money for such situations.

They left Flourish and Blotts and headed to a potion shop to buy all the necessary materials. Mr. Lovegood and Luna were carrying their purchases, while Winky, as soon as she made a purchase, requested for it to be sent to the emo's house as quickly as possible. After leaving the potion shop, they went to Madam Malkin's, as Luna needed a new uniform since her old one was getting small.

Upon entering the store, they found Ginny. The two friends greeted each other and started chatting about their holidays. Some time later, they both left the store with their new uniforms.

Ginny: Luna, let's check out my brothers' shop.

Luna: Which one? You have so many.

Ginny: It's Fred and George's shop. Besides, Harry and Hermione will be there too.

As they chatted happily, the Weasley and Lovegood men walked a bit behind to keep an eye on the girls. Everyone was surprised when they arrived at the Weasley twins' shop.

Above the display, the shop's posters stood out from the others around it. Fred and George's windows dazzled with a display of fireworks. Occasional passersby glanced at the windows over their shoulders, and some people, somewhat puzzled, actually stopped to look, but the most prominent words read:

WHY WORRY ABOUT HE-WHO-MUST-NOT-BE-NAMED?

YOU SHOULD CARE ABOUT WHAT IS HIDDEN!

THE FEELING OF CONSTIPATION

Molly: Those boys have gone mad.

The others just smiled. Upon entering the shop, they found Ron, Harry, and Hermione. Luna greeted them and began to talk about the products they were selling.

Luna: I wanted to ask you something.

Hermione: What is it?

Luna: When will the next DA meeting be?

Harry: There won't be any more meetings, Luna. The DA was formed to fight Umbridge, but she's already left Hogwarts.

Luna: That's a shame; I liked those meetings.

Ron: There could have been more meetings if the Uchiha hadn't captured us.

Luna: He told me he was just doing his duty.

Ron wanted to argue more, but Harry stopped him. They moved away with Hermione to discuss Draco, as Harry had seen him in Diagon Alley with his mother.

Ginny seized the moment to take Luna to a secluded part of the shop to talk about Sasuke.

Ginny: Luna, how close are you to the Uchiha?

Luna: Sasuke is my friend, why? Did something happen?

Ginny: Luna, what I'm going to tell you is—

Ginny stopped talking when she heard a voice say, "Miss Lovegood, is everything alright?" Ginny turned and saw a house-elf looking at her with a serious expression.

Luna: Yes, Winky, I'm talking with my friend. Let me introduce you; this is Ginny Weasley.

Winky relaxed and greeted Ginny.

Ginny returned the greeting.

Ginny: Since when do you have a house-elf, Luna?

Luna: She's not mine; she belongs to Sasuke. Since he couldn't come to buy his supplies, he sent Winky. We happened to meet, and I invited her to join me.

Ginny: I see. - She said with a forced smile - Now I won't be able to warn you. This elf, while accompanying Luna, must be gathering information for the Uchiha - she thought.

In the end, Ginny couldn't talk alone with Luna because Winky wouldn't leave her side. They both said goodbye and went on their way.

At Malfoy Manor, Lucius appeared desperate, calling for his wife and son.

Lucius: Narcissa, we have to get out of here quickly.

Narcissa: What's happening, Lucius?

Draco: What is it, Dad?

Lucius: There's no time to explain; hurry! - He said while starting to cast protective spells around the house. He called the house-elves and ordered them to help Narcissa and Draco.

While Lucius continued casting protective spells, Narcissa, Draco, and the elves went to grab a few things, and then the two ran to Lucius's office to get the key to the Gringotts vault.

Just as they were about to leave, they heard an explosion coming from the entrance of the manor.

Draco: Dad?

Narcissa: Stay here. I'll see what happened.

Draco: But, Mom...

Narcissa: STAY HERE!

Narcissa took a bell from her pocket and gave it to Draco.

Narcissa: Listen carefully; if I'm not back in two minutes, ring this bell.

Narcissa left the office with her wand in hand, heading towards the entrance of the manor.
