Chapter 48: Worth celebrating for?

"Papa, can you add this to the list too?" Halley asks while showing her papa some bunch of pint ice cream and whipped cream.

     "Hal, only the necessary, di'ba?" Vince told her with a smile.

     "It's ice cream, papa, come on."

     "Matutunaw lang yan sa byahe, and besides, we can buy ice cream there."

     "It won't kasi we'll eat that tonight."

     Vince let out a chuckle.

     "If you want ice cream, I'll bring you to the store. Huwag na yan, okay."

    "Fine, fine," Halley pouted then put them back on the freezing racks where she gets them. "Just make sure I would like it."

     "You do, favorite natin yun eh."

    "Omg! They have the store here?"

    "Yup, how come you didn't know?"

    "I'm asking the same thing, pa."

     "Let's just finish grocery then we'll go ahead after."

     "Okay, papa, make it quick! I'm already craving!" She exclaimed while eyes were gleaming.

    "Takaw sa ice cream," Vince laughed then pinches her nose.

     "Got it from you, eh."

    Halley wraps her arms around Vince's waist then looks up at him.

    "Why you look so guapo now, papa?"

    "Sus, nang-bola pa!" He chuckles again. "Anong request mo?"

     "You really know me, pa!"

    "Of course, anak kita."

Once the 'mag-ama' were done shopping for their grocery, they decided to head straight to their favorite gelato store—they often had the same brand of gelato back in Napa—and stayed there for a while.

     "Pa, tita Auds just messaged me."

     "I know it already, sweet bean, she messaged me too."

     "Are we coming?"

     "It's fine, are you going somewhere?"

     "Nope," Halley smiled at him. "I actually want to see them all, papa! It's been a while since na-complete tayo."

     "Yeah, it's been a while," Vince nodded.

     "And besides, I have a lot to ask them all."

     She glanced at her papa again, grinning.

     "What will you ask naman?"

     "You guess?"

     "I'm sure kalokohan na naman yan including your tito and ninong."

     "Wow! Papa!" Halley chuckles. "Last time I check, kayo yun ah—oh wait, my bad, behave ka nga pala, papa."

     Vince brushed off his daughter's face as he pulled her closer to him letting her sit on his lap, "you're saying a lot, ang dami nang alam!"

     "Got all info from Ninong Drei!"

     "Nag team-up pa ha."

     "Naman, he's the number one source when it comes to all you k-stuffs!"

     "Halley!" Vince frowned at her.

     "What?!" She laughed so hard seeing her papa's reaction. "I meant your kalokohan, okay! OMG! What were you thinking, papa?!"
