A long and emotional, maybe a little heartbreaking conversation ensues between Halley, Tricia, and Vince.
Halley had always been the kind of lady who even though she had the guts to speak up about what's on her mind, she still never did.
She wanted to blame Tricia so badly for all that had happen to her and Vince over the last 18 years.
But only God knows, she tried not to.
Halley still had the respect to not say a word to those she had a conflict with.
And in this case, she couldn't deny the fact that Tricia was still her mom.
And that she couldn't just blame her if she hasn't heard her side of the story yet—she wanted to be considerate.
At that point, they couldn't push themselves to continue with the conversation where everyone else was at their highest emotional level.
And so Vince and Tricia decided to let Halley rest for a good while.
They knew she had been through a lot already and won't risk intruding with how she process this all.
"Just give her some space muna, nag-iisip pa yun," Vince told Tricia.
Trying to lighten the mood.
They both exited the room.
"She despised me, Vince. She couldn't even look at me in the eye."
"Hal didn't say a w—"
"Even if she didn't, her actions says it all."
Tricia lost control and let her tears fall, hoping that by doing so, she would be able to release the pain.
"Tricia," Vince tried to wipe her tears.
But it was useless.
"Vince, I'm sorry."
Tricia could still hear those painful words that Halley had been wanting to tell her even though she hasn't said a word.
"I've been saying sorry to you, paulit-ulit."
Tricia weakly looked at him.
Vince was already looking at Tricia too.
Things had been running in his mind, things he wanted to say; if she didn't leave, if I didn't let it, none of this would have happened.
But just like Halley, he chose not to.
At this point, he knew Tricia was in her vulnerable state and he doesn't think she could take any more words against her.
"Vince, I know my sorry won't take away all the pain I've caused you and Halley."
She reaches for his hands.
"Believe me, Vince, I want to make things right but I don't know where to start."
Tricia shed another fresh batch of tears while Vince let her cry in his arms.
Vince couldn't reply a single word.
Even him had no idea how would they be able to make things right neither where to start—and not mentioning the possible things along the way and the process.
"Tricia that's enough."
Vince wiped her tears for the last time.
He made her look at him.
