Chapter 170: Apple of the eye (Part 2)

On the road...

     Vince was driving their car as regularly, Tricia was in the passenger seat, and the children were all in the second-row captain seat.

     The travel was fun and interesting since they all enjoy music and have been singing to the playlist since then.

     And, of course, they would never miss this one if they do not go on a food trip.

     Their vehicle was about halfway to their location when Vince and the kids observed Tricia was fast asleep. They don't mind since they were all aware of Tricia's condition, which prompts her to fall asleep frequently.

     "Papa, please turn down the music; Mama is already asleep," Adan requested.

     Vince agreed and did precisely what the kids requested him to do, "Ate Hal, could you kindly grab the box from Mama? Please be cautious not to wake her up."

     "All right, Pa," Halley replied, gently retrieving the box of chocolate-coated strawberries from their Mama on which they had been snacking.

     "Papa, do you think Mum's already deep asleep?" Abbey whispered, cautiously leaning in near Vince.

     "You bet she is," he grinned, smiling at his wife, "and while we're on the matter, could you please hand me the blankets at the back? Mamaya lang giginawin na 'yang mama niyo."

     "Sure, Papa; do you have any spare?" Abbey inquired.

     "Yes, I have extra in there for you kids to use if you get chilly."

     Halley assisted Abbey in gathering the comforters from the rear of the van and gently placing them across their mama while their papa assisted them and utilized the other blankets themselves.

     After a brief moment, Halley's iPad rang unexpectedly, she recognized her Tita Audrey contacting and so she responded straight away.

     "Hi, Tita! What's up?" she replied promptly.

     Halley placed the iPad in a spot where everyone could see and converse with Audrey.

     "Hello, y'all!" Audrey remarked, "Is that Trish sleeping?"

     "Yup!" Vince grinned, "I see you're all there already," noticing his friends behind Audrey.

     "Certainly, we've been here since after your ceremony!"

     Shortly afterward, Emman, Lei, and Andrei approach Audrey to inform Vince and his children that all of their arrangements for Tricia's surprise have been finalized.

     Tricia, on the contrary, seems to have no idea what would happen; all she believes was that she will surprise her husband with the assistance of her children and friends.

     "Has my tuxedo arrived yet?" Vince questioned quietly so Tricia wouldn't wake up.

     "Yes, it came; I concealed it so it didn't get messy," Lei said.

     "Your wife makes good choices, Gomez," Andrei remarked.

     Vince couldn't help but smile, "Is that so, okay ba?"

     "You know Trish, Kuya! You like whatever she chooses," Audrey stated abruptly, and everyone agreed, "but anyhow, do you have the r—"

     "Positive," Vince responded before she could finish, "I have it with me, safe and sound."

     "Are you proud and excited?" they all questioned.

     Vince smiled broadly once more before shifting slightly to gaze at Tricia, who was still fast slumber. He smooched his wife on the temple before kissing her on the forehead.
