"Yes! Yes Roger, I'll marry you!" I exclaimed as more tears ran down my face. He picked me up and spun me around, he then brought me into a passionate kiss.
He took the ring out of the box and put it on my ring finger. It had a diamond in the middle and a few smaller ones around it. I saw that he had 'RT' engraved into the ring. Oh my gosh, I felt butterflies going through me all at once. It was incredible.
"I'm so happy Maddie," he said as he brought me closer to him.
"I need to meet your parents soon," I said.
"I know love, I know. I'll take you to meet them very soon." He said.
We cleaned up the picnic area, and went back to the house. I shivered and Roger gave me his jacket. I had to admit, I didn't think he'd want to marry me so soon.
I went to sleep that night knowing that I was engaged. I was so happy, I could barely sleep for that fact. Roger and I were in our normal sleeping position.
God In in love with this man.
October 4, 1975
Maddie's POV
10:00 am
Roger was recording today, he told me it was Brian's song called '39. I decided to go to the studio and listen to them record.
When I got over there, I didn't hear drums. In fact, all I heard was Roger's falsetto. It must've been a softer song than their most because I heard Brian singing lead vocals.
"Don't you hear my call though you're many years away
Don't you hear me calling you?
Write your letters in the sand for the day I take your hand
In the land that our grandchildren knew," Brian sang. His voice was so soothing and peaceful.
"Guys that sounds lovely," I said as they took a short break.
"Thanks Maddie," Brian smiled.
"Maybe we should take a break darlings, we've been working all morning.
I went back to the house with the boys following behind me. Michael was in the kitchen pouring himself some water. We all gathered in the living room and that's when Deaky went in shock.
"I-" Deaky stuttered.
"What's wrong Deaks?" Mike asked as he sat next to him.
He pointed st my finger rapidly and yelled, "Ring!"
I took my hand back and smiled, Brian and John were congratulating me while Michael was in shock.
"C-C-Congratulations Maddie," he said at last.
"Thank you, all of you. I was afraid to tell you myself because I didn't know how you all would react." I said nervously.
"Oh darling I already knew, I helped Roger plan the whole thing out." Freddie smiled as he brought me into a hug.
"Yeah, I owe it to Fred the most. He's been such a help," Roger said rubbing his neck. He brought me into his lap as Michael came to sit next to me.
"Oh darlings leave the wedding planning to me, I'll get it all taken care of." Freddie smiled and clapped his hands.
"Thank you Fred, but maybe you should worry about finishing the album first," I giggled as Roger wrapped his arms around my waist.
