chapter one hundred fourty four;

June 17, 1977

Today I was going to the studio with Roger. The boys really wanted to see me, but they also wanted to talk about another album idea.

I was about five weeks pregnant, and with time I knew I was going to get to meet my baby soon.

Honestly, I was growing a little fast for five weeks. I already had a small bump showing.

"Roger," I said.

"Yes petal?"

"Look," I said as I turned for him to look at the dress.

"Aw, the baby's already trying to show," he chuckled as he put his hand over my stomach.

"Let's get going," I said as I grabbed my Gucci purse Roger got me the year before. I used it on special occasions, but luckily the boys didn't know that.

Once we got there, the boys were sitting at a table. Their eyes lit up as they saw me walking through the door.

"Maddie darling! Oh how I've missed you!" Freddie said as he brought me into a big hug.

"Hey Fred, I've missed you too," I giggled.

"Hey Maddie, how are you?" Brian smiled.

"I'm doing good, what about you?" I asked.

"I'm great, yeah." He smiled.

"John!" I said as he came over my way.

"Hello Maddie, how was Veronica while we were away?" He asked.

"She was okay I guess, she just talked about how she really missed you. Lizzie was an angel, and I couldn't thank her enough for watch Princess while we went to Bora Bora." I smiled. He gave me a hug then went to sit back down with the other boys.

Once I sat down on a comfortable sofa, I quickly got the urge the throw up. I ran straight to the bathroom and threw up. God damnit I hated the morning sickness.

Once I came out I got stares from the boys.

"You alright Maddie?" Brian asked. I nodded and went to sit back down. Roger came and sat next to me, laying his hand on my thigh.

"Should we tell them now?" He whispered.

"I think so," I said.

"Wait lets get them surprised, I'm going to go over there. Make sure when you walk over there, you're turned to your side where they can see your stomach." He said.

Roger got up and walked over to the coffee machine to get a cup. I made sure I walked slowly so they would have more time to stare. Of course, they looked at us.

"Um Maddie? Are you sure you're alright?" I heard John asked.

"I'm fine John, why do you ask?"

"Y-You um look pregnant-" He stuttered.

"Oh, maybe because I am..." I said trying to trail off.

Their eyes went wide, wider than I had ever seen them before.

"Oh my god darling! You're pregnant and you tried to keep it from us? I'm going to be an uncle!" Freddie exclaimed as he walked over to hug me.

"Wow, I remember when we joked about that. Now you're actually pregnant," Brian chuckled and John agreed.

"I'm only five weeks, but I'm showing more than I expected. I'm not really complaining, the feeling of having a life inside of you is crazy though," I said.

They nodded and started to ask questions.

I missed my best friends so much.
