November 3, 1975

We had gotten back from Rockfield yesterday, so today I thought would be a good day to bring Maddie to see my family.

I slowly got up, trying not to wake her. That failed and she woke up.

"Good morning," she smiled as she rubbed her eyes.

"Hello love, get dressed. We're going to see my family today."

"Huh? Do they know we're engaged?" She asked.

"Yes, and they're excited to see you. My mum had to my sister and dad all about you because I can't keep my mouth shut about you," I chuckled as she got out of bed.

She came over to me and wrapped her arms around my neck. She kissed my cheek as I wrapped my arms around her waist.

She got dressed, which I could tell she wanted to make a good first impression. She came out to the kitchen where I was, I saw her in a black dress that came to the middle of her thighs. God she looked perfect.

"You want to make a good impression love?" I asked, she nodded. "Stay here."

I went to our closet and got out my lighter fur coat she had given me for my birthday. She loved wearing this thing, and I loved seeing her in it.

I went out and out it on her, she snuggled close to me when I did.

"Thank you," she whispered.

"For what love?"

"For staying with me all this time," she smiled. I gave her a kiss and we made our way to Kings Lynn.

10:00 am

We were almost to my parents house when I could tell Maddie was shaking nervously. I put my hand on her thigh and rubbed it reassuringly.

"You'll be fine love, I promise."

She gave me a sweet smile as we pulled up to my parent's cottage-like house. I had so many memories in this place, some good and some not the best.

I helped Maddie out of the car and took her hand. I held the hand her engagement ring was on so I kissed the ring as she knocked on the door.

My mom answered it with excitement. "Hello dear, come in."

"Hey mum," I said as I kissed her cheek.

"And you must be Maddie," she smiled. Maddie nodded and smiled, my mum went a hugged her and Maddie hugged her back. She wasn't used to her parents love, so I knew mine would take good care of her.

Maddie's POV

Hello Mrs. Taylor, it's nice to meet you at last," I said as she brought me into a hug.

"Oh darling please, call me Winnie. Thank you for settling down with my son, he always talks about how beautiful you are." She said as she sat on the sofa next to me.

"Oh that Rog, always the charmer," I giggled as she laughed along. She looked at my engagement ring and took a good look at it.

"Oh my! It's beautiful, Maddie. Wow, he even got his initials engraved in it. How magnificent." She beamed.

"Thank you, Roger is quite good at spoiling me," I joked and she laughed along. Roger walked in from what I'm guessing is the kitchen, he smiled at how we were getting along.

"Clare! Maddie's here, come say hello!" Winnie shouted. Clare came down the stairs and immediately noticed me. She came straight to me and gave me a hug.

"Rog was right, you are beautiful," she said as she pulled away from the hug.

"Wow Rog you call me beautiful behind my back?" I joked.

"Hello to you too Clare," he said as he came over to us. Clare gave Roger a hug around the neck, it was so sweet seeing them together.

"Oh Rog! The ring is beautiful!" Clare said excitedly.

"Yes I know, I'm quite good at picking out stuff for girls," he joked.
