chapter one hundred eighty;

August 20, 1978
Maddie's POV

"Rog- agh. What happened last night?" I asked.

"You had a shot battle with Fred and you won. You got super drunk and I wouldn't be surprised if you woke up with a massive hangover," he said.

"W-Where are the twins?"

"Veronica went by my parents to pick them up along with Lizzie and Cameron," he said as he turned to face me.

I smiled when I saw him, but I immediately ran to the bathroom and threw up in the toilet.

I felt Roger put a hand on my back as he moved my hair out of the way.

"Thanks," I said as I took a deep breath.

"No problem at all petal."

An hour later.

After a while of throwing my guts up, I went downstairs and went to Roger.

"Hey petal, how're you feeling?" He asked as he patted Princess on the head.

"I'm feeling a lot better, though I still have a bit of a headache so I came to get some painkillers," I said as I went to the medicine cabinet.

"When should we pick up the kids from the Deacons?" Roger asked.

"I mean we could go now," I said.

"You mean I could go now, I'll pick them up love. Besides, you don't feel too good," Roger said.

"But-" Was all I could say before he cut me off.

"But nothing, I'm going to get them and that's that," he said as he grabbed the keys.

"Alright, love you."

"Love you too petal."

7:00 pm

"Roger! Hold Holly, I'll hold Ben. I want to see if they'll babble to each other," I said as I handed him Holly.

"Say hi to your brother," he said in Holly's ear.

They did it. They were babbling in their little baby language. It was so cute, they were talking to each other. We didn't know what they were saying, but they were saying something.

"Look at them," Roger said gently. He smiled and he handed me Holly.

"Let's get you two fed and bathed," I said.

Roger went straight to the kitchen and made their bottles. I had to admit, he was getting really good at taking care of the children.

Just then the phone rang.

"Roger! Could you get the twins while I answer that?" I shouted.

He ran straight in the room and got them from me. He gave them their bottles as I got up to answer the phone.

"Hello?"

"Maddie darling! I've got great news!" Freddie said in the other line.

"And what's that?"

"Mary's moved in right next door to me! I bought the house for her, and she'll get to visit the cats and me anytime! She could even walk to yours anytime as well," He said giddily.

"That's great! We should go over there and say hello," I said.

"She's already moved in. We could go now if you'd like," he said.

I talked to him for a few more minutes before hanging up. I went back in the living room where Roger was to tell him what was happening. 

"Hey Rog, Mary moved right next door to Fred. I think we should go visit her," I said.

"Alright. I know she'd be happy to see the twins," he said.

I got the twins ready to see Mary. I decided it would be better to bathe them later on anyways.
