August 3, 1978
"Maddie do you want to come to the studio?" Roger asked. I nodded and got up from the bed and got myself ready.
I then went into the nursery to get the twins ready, they were already awake and didn't make a peep. I heard Princess moving around a bit downstairs, I really need to walk her soon.
I gave the twins their morning bottles after I got them dressed, then we made our way to the studio.
Thirty minutes later.
"Roger do you have any song pitches. You usually do a few for each album," Brian said. I sat on the couch and tended to the twins.
"Actually I have two right now. One is called 'Fun it' and the other is called 'More of That Jazz," Roger said.
"Show me the lyrics darling," Freddie said. Roger pulled out two pieces of paper from his coat pocket and handed them to Freddie.
"I like them, let's record them. Roger you can do lead vocals on your songs, do whatever you need to do," Freddie said.
I'm so glad Freddie let Roger do his own vocals for his own songs. That's him being generous to share the spotlight. I mean, he shouldn't had shared it when Roger wrote a song about his car, but Freddie didn't really have a choice when Roger locked himself in that damn cupboard.
"Oh my god," I said quietly to myself.
"What's wrong petal?" Roger asked from the table they sat at.
"When the kids are old enough, I have to tell them about how you locked yourself in that damn cupboard over a car song," I snickered.
"Oh god here we go again," Roger groans.
"Ha! Maybe one of them may just grow up to be a mini Rog!" Freddie shouted.
"Honestly I think it's going to be Lizzie, she's a little badass already," I laughed as I took the twins out of their carrier one by one.
"How's Veronica doing with Cameron?" I asked Deaky.
"Oh she's doing great, Lizzie is such a big helper," he chuckled.
Today Roger and the boys were recording 'More Of That Jazz.'
3:00 pm
"Brian!" I heard Roger shout as I came back from the restroom.
I grabbed the twins from Deaky and waited to see what was going down.
"Shut up Rog! You know you're going to slow, you just don't want to admit it!" Brian shouted.
Roger snapped both of his drumsticks this time, so it may have been more serious than I thought.
"Brian you don't even know the damn tempo for MY song!" Roger shouted back as he threw the snapped drumsticks on the ground.
"Enough darlings! The more you two bicker, the more time we won't have to record the album!" Freddie shouted.
"Whatever, let's just get this over with. Deaky get Rog a new pair of drumsticks," Brian said.
"Y'know I think it's funny that you guys have extra pair of drumsticks for Roger," I giggled.
"Now's not the time Maddie," Roger said as he rolled his eyes.
This was going to be a long recording session.
