When they landed they registered for the tournament, Tom, and Alice run off to catch a Pokémon because the tournament requires two Pokémon in order to compete
Ryon: This should be fun.
Ryon and his Lycanroc and walk away to a bench

Ryon walks onto his box of the battle field, the crowd cheering
