Entry 974
Tuesday 28th May 2019

A strange day. I spoke to Naomi but it's left me feeling a combination of anger and sadness.

I went to work, spent some time with Leo and spoke to Nikki over the walkie talkie. I told her that I was going to be seeing Naomi later on. I told her that I was going to try and sort all this mess out and to tell Naomi she needed to apologise to Nikki. "Don't let her manipulate you," said Nikki, "She'll probably say that this is all my fault, that I'm manipulating you, and that I can't stand the fact that you used to like her. She'll make it all about how amazing she is and how horrible, insecure and evil I am. Just don't get sucked in." "I won't," I said, "Hopefully she'll apologise and then agree to apologise to you and then we can move on." "I don't think she'll apologise, babes," said Nikki, "But if you want to give it ago, then you give it a go." I told Nikki I'd let her know how it went with Naomi.

Once I'd finished work, I went round to Naomi's prepared for an awkward conversation. I actually felt rather nervous, but despite that I knew this conversation needed to happen. I took a deep breath, knocked on the door, took a step back and waited. A few moments later Naomi answered the door and looked surprised, but also slightly disappointed to see me. "Oh," she said, "I thought you'd be back round at some point." "I think we should have a chat," I said. "Yeah, I think you're right," said Naomi, "Ash is out with Sophie. Come in."

I walked into Naomi's and took a seat on the sofa. Naomi sat on the same sofa but maintained distance. "So..." I said. "So..." said Naomi. "Well, I suppose the word that comes to mind is 'apology'," I said. "Yeah, that's the word I'm thinking of too," said Naomi. "Good," I said, feeling slightly relieved, "It sounds like we're both on the same page." "Sounds like," said Naomi. There was a short and awkward pause. Naomi and I exchanged uncomfortable looks. I started to feel a bit confused. "Well, go on then," I said. "What do you mean?" asked Naomi. "Apologise then," I said. "I thought you were the one who came round here to apologise," said Naomi. "No!" I exclaimed, "Why would you think that?" "Because you've just turned up talking about apologising," said Naomi. "I'm on about YOU, not ME!" I exclaimed, "I've got nothing to apologise for." "Neither have I," said Naomi. "You insulted my girlfriend and punched her in the face," I firmly said. "I didn't punch anyone in the face," said a firm Naomi, "I told you that. Are you really going to believe that Nikki; a woman you've known for two minutes, compared to me?" "THAT Nikki is my girlfriend," I said. "Yeah, and she's playing you like a fiddle," said Naomi, "Jesus Christ Luke, open your eyes. Can't you see what's happening? She knows you had a thing for me, and she can't stand the possibility that me and you are friends because it means she has to confront the fact that you used to have feelings for me. She is so insecure and manipulative it's unbelievable." "God," I said, shaking my head in disgust, "This is exactly what she said you'd do." "What?" said Naomi. "This," I said, pointing at Naomi, "She said you'd say all this; accuse her of playing me and manipulating me; make out that she's insecure and that she can't handle that I used to have a thing for you. God, she's got you all figured out, hasn't she?" "No, it's me that's got her figured out," snapped Naomi, "Luke, I didn't hit her. I walked off after she started chucking insults at me. I never laid a finger on her. Yeah, OK, I gave as good as I got when it came to throwing insults about, but I did NOT touch her." "Naomi, what are you saying?" I asked, "Are you saying that Nikki punched herself in the face to cause all this sh*t? Because that's what you were saying the other day." "Maybe she fell and hurt herself and then used the cut lip to lie and make out that I hit her," said Naomi. "Why would she do that?" I exclaimed. "Because she HATES the fact that you're friends with someone you used to fancy," said Naomi, "She sees me as a threat. She wants me and you kept apart, and this is her way of doing that." "You're doing it again," I said, "Exactly what she said you'd do." "OH, WAKE THE F*CK UP!" Naomi yelled as she stood up from the sofa, "That b*tch is a complete psycho and she's got you right where she wants you. She's controlling you, and you just can't see it!" "Oh, for God's sake," I snapped, standing up to confront Naomi, "That is NOT what's going on. Why can't you just say sorry?" "Because I've got nothing to be sorry for!" Naomi shouted. "You punched her in the face!" I shouted. "NO, I DIDN'T!" yelled Naomi. "Why are you lying!?" I yelled. "No!" yelled Naomi, "The question is; why do you believe her and not me!?" There was a short but tense pause. "God, Luke," said Naomi, "I think you know me well enough to know that if I'd have hit her, I'd tell you. Why would I lie?" "It's obvious isn't it?" I said, "You hit her, make out that she did it to herself and then it all looks like Nikki is the unhinged nutter. You don't like her and you don't want me to be with her, and this is how you go about doing it." "Is that what you really think of me?" said an angry Naomi, "That I would punch your girlfriend in the face and then try to convince you that she did it to herself, all so you'd dump her? Seriously, is that sort of person you think I am?" There was a pause. I wasn't sure what to say. "Luke, it's your love life," said Naomi, "Do what the Hell you want, but don't accuse me of doing something I haven't done. Jesus, why would I go to such extreme lengths to keep you single?" "I don't know," I said, shrugging my shoulder and throwing my hands in the air, "Seth's not around anymore. Maybe you want me to be as miserable as you." Naomi looked up and widened her eyes. She didn't look happy. "That's low," she said, "Seriously low." "No," I said, "What's low is you insulting my girlfriend and punching her in the face." "I DIDN'T F*CKING PUNCH HER!" yelled Naomi, "Why won't you believe me!?" "She's got a f*cking cut on her lip!" I loudly said. "So!?" Naomi loudly said, "That doesn't mean it was me. How can you take the word of some woman you hardly know over mine?" There was another pause. "After everything we've been through. God. Are you really that desperate to be with someone?" "I just want to be happy," I said. "And you think you can be happy with her?" said Naomi. "Yes," I said. "Look," I firmly said, "Someone is lying to me." "And you're so loved up and blinded by that b*tch's manipulation, you think it's me and can't see that it's her," said Naomi. "Look, I'm not just going to stand here and listen to you slagging off my girlfriend," I firmly said. "And I'm not going to stand here and be accused of something I haven't done," snapped Naomi, "Jesus Luke, you were the one who asked me to go round and see her. I was doing you a favour, and I end being called a liar and accused of all this sh*t. Do you really have such a low opinion of me?" "Yeah, well it's not the first time you've acted all erratically," I said. "Excuse me?" said Naomi. "Samantha Harbourne," I said, "Remember her? You plunged an axe into her and killed her just like that." "That's not the same thing," Naomi firmly said. "Isn't it?" I said. "No, and you know it's not," snapped Naomi, "If you want to bring up the past, what about you killing Ashley and Jessica Seagrave? That was rather erratic. None of us are perfect Luke. We all make mistakes. You're making one right now by getting involved with Nikki." "No," I said, "The mistake was sending you round. I trusted you to do the right thing. I should have known you'd have thrown your weight around." "That's not what f*cking happened," snapped Naomi. "You punched Nikki in the face," I snapped. "No, I didn't," said Naomi, "She might have a cut on her lip but that's not proof of anything. I can't believe you're taking her word over mine. I really can't believe it!" "Naomi, just apologise," I said. "Luke, I don't have anything to apologise for." "You punched my girlfriend," I said. Naomi rolled her eyes, threw her hands in the air and raised her head in despair. "My God, it's like you're brainwashed," said Naomi, "There's nothing I can say to you is there? You are totally convinced I hit her, aren't you? Jesus. I never knew you could be such a blind idiot. A blind idiot who can't see what's right in front of him because he's so pathetically desperate to get a girlfriend." "At least I'm not pathetically desperate to lie to keep people from being together," I said, "Seth might not be around anymore but that doesn't give you the right to p*ss al over everyone else's happiness." There was short but tense pause. Naomi looked furious. "Get the f*ck out of my house," snaped Naomi. "Are you going to apologise to Nikki?" I asked. "No," Naomi firmly said, "I haven't done anything. I didn't punch her, but I bl**dy wish I had." "Fine," I said, "At least I know where we stand." I started to walk towards the front door. "No, Luke, wait," said Naomi, "This is ridiculous. We must be able to sort this out. Come on, we're friends." "We're not friends," I said, "This isn't what friends do. We used to be friends but we're not friends anymore." There was a sobering pause. "So that's it is it?" asked Naomi, "You're choosing her over me? You're deciding to end our friendship for your relationship with Nikki. Is that the decision you've made?" "No," I said, "It's not the decision I'VE made. It's the decision YOU'VE made for me." I then walked over to the door, turned around and took one last look at Naomi. "Just stay away from me," I said, "We're not friends anymore." I then left. I felt incredibly sad and also rather angry. Why the Hell couldn't she just hold her hands up and apologise.

I'm at Nikki's now. I'm spending the night here again. I told her all about my confrontation with Naomi and how I ended up telling her to get lost. Nikki gave me a hug and comforted me. "It's really sad when friends fall out," she said, "But if she couldn't apologise and admit her mistake, then maybe you're better off without her." "Yeah, maybe I am," I said. "Don't be sad," said Nikki, "You've got me. You don't need violent people like Naomi. People like that are going to die old and alone. Me and you will be together forever." I smiled at Nikki and held her hand.

I just can't believe what a tw*t Naomi has been. All she had to do was say sorry and we could have tried to move on, but she's so stubborn. It's like she doesn't want me to be happy. As if Nikki would lie about being punched in the face. During all this drama it's Naomi that's said a lot more horrible stuff about Nikki than Nikki saying horrible stuff about Naomi. I suppose right now I am still feeling angry but once the anger has worn off, I think I'll just feel disappointed and sad; disappointed that Naomi couldn't be an adult and simply say sorry, and sad that our friendship has come to an end. Mind you, as Nikki said, maybe this isn't the sort of friendship I need or want.

I also wonder who was sending Nikki the horrible threatening letters. I really hope it wasn't Naomi, but Nikki has put some doubt in my mind. Let's just hope the letters have stopped once and for all.
