Entry 1097
Saturday 28th September 2019Nikki has sent most of the day in bed "pretending" to be ill. I say "pretending" because it's pretty obvious she's not ill. She's just been a tw*t. I've just had a right go at her!
Naomi and I got up, and once we'd sorted Sophie out, we noticed that Nikki wasn't coming down for breakfast. We both went upstairs, knocked on her bedroom door and asked if she was OK. Well... Naomi asked if she was OK. I couldn't give a f*ck. Nikki opened the door slightly and looked through the crack at Naomi and I. She had the duvet wrapped around her and looked very sorry for herself. "I'm not well," said Nikki, putting on a pathetic feel-sorry-for-me voice, "I think that meat I ate wasn't cooked properly." "The meat was cooked fine," I firmly said, "There's nothing wrong with you, you look fine to me." "Calling me a liar again, I see," said Nikki. "Look, if you're not well, we'll just leave you to it, and give you some peace," said Naomi. "What do you mean, leave me to it?" said Nikki, "I'm not well, aren't you both going to look after me?" "You what!?" I exclaimed. "Well, we were going to go to Cowes to catch up with everyone," said Naomi, "Luke wants to see Leo, and I need to see Ash." "So, you're both just going to leave me here when I'm pregnant and feeling really unwell?" asked Nikki, "It's your cooking that did this to me. Are you really just going to leave me?" "My God," I angrily said, "You..." "It's OK," said Naomi, interrupting me, "I'll stay here with Sophie and look after Nikki, and you go to Cowes to see Leo." "No," I exclaimed, "I'm not leaving you here on your own to look after her. This is all b*llocks. There's nothing even wrong with her." "Luke, I feel terrible," snapped Nikki, "My stomach really hurts, and I ache all over. I know you think I'm some huge liar but..." "Oh, and I wonder why I think you're a huge lair!?" I loudly exclaimed. "Luke, it's fine," said Naomi, "You got to Cowes. Tell everyone I said hi and tell Ash I'll see him in a day or so. I'll look after Nikki. It's fine." "Well, you can start by telling Sophie not to make so much noise," said Nikki, "She's giving me a headache, and then I want some pain killers, followed by some hot soup." Nikki then returned to her bed and closed the door.
Naomi and I went downstairs, and I made it obvious I wasn't happy. "OK," I firmly said, "This has got to stop." "Look, I'm not happy about this either," said Naomi, "But it's better than rowing every day, isn't it?" "You know, I don't think it is," I said, "I'd rather we spent every day having a go at each other than you being at her beck and call every five minutes. This is just... It's just..." "I know," said Naomi, putting her hands reassuringly on my shoulders, "I hate this two, but it's the lesser of two evils. She's pregnant with your kid at the end of the day, and her pretending to be ill and I'll be dancing to her tune, whilst annoying, it's better for her and the baby than shouting and screaming and getting into arguments. Wouldn't you put up with this sort of cr*p if it meant Leo would be OK." "Leo's here, THAT baby inside her isn't," I said. "And the chances of that baby being here at all get increasingly unlikely if she keeps getting stressed and angry," said Naomi. "Yeah, well, like I said, maybe that's not a bad thing," I said, "This can't go on. What are we going to do when the baby comes, and she keeps acting like a psycho?" "Let's cross that bridge when we come to it," said Naomi. "Cross the bridge?" I said, "I'd like to push her off it."
I gave Naomi and Sophie a kiss, and reluctantly left for Cowes. I really wasn't comfortable with the idea of me leaving Naomi to look after Nikki who was obviously lying through her teeth, but Naomi's mind was made up and I did want to see Leo.
I caught up with Mum and Auntie Meryl, I spent some lovely time with Leo, and I caught up with Mike and Sci-Fi Cyn at Sails Café. I told them all about Nikki getting on my nerves, about all the tricks she's playing, and about Naomi looking after her. Mum and Auntie Meryl called Nikki a few choice names, Cyn could see that Naomi was thinking about the unborn baby, and Mike said he wanted to tie Nikki to a chair and stick matchsticks under her fingernails and rub salt into her eyes.
