Entry 975
Wednesday 29th May 2019I've just got back from Nikki's. I wanted to stay the night but Mum radioed trough saying that she was going out and that I had to look after Leo. Auntie Meryl has another bingo marathon to attend.
I had a nice time a Nikki's but things got slightly heated when we started talking about Naomi. "What's up?" she asked me as we cuddled on the sofa and watched a DVD, "You look sad?" "Forget it," I said, "It's nothing." "No," said Nikki, "I'm your girlfriend. If you've got something on your mind, then you should tell me. It's the job of the girlfriend to provide her guy with love and support. So, come on. Open up. Talk to me. Let me help. I'll listen. What's up?" I sat upright from my slouched position and looked at Nikki. "I'm just not happy with how things were left with me and Naomi," I said, "We've been friends for ages, and we've been through so much together it just feels wrong leaving it like this." "Are you F*cking kidding me!?" Nikki loudly angry snapped, as she stood up and flung her arms in the air in outrage. "What? What is it?" I asked feeling concerned and confused. "You and that f*cking Naomi," snapped Nikki, "You never stop talking about her! Why don't you go and get her to be your girlfriend!? She'd probably like that!" "Eh!?" I said, standing up in outrage, "What are you talking about 'I never stop talking about her'? This is the first time I've mentioned her all day." "Oh, so I'm a liar, am I?" snapped Nikki. "No," I firmly said, "I didn't say that. I'm disagreeing with you." "Well, as far as I'm concerned, that's as good as calling me a liar!" snapped Nikki. "I'm not calling you a liar," I said, "I'm just saying that this is the first time I've mentioned her all day." "I don't know why you feel the need to mention her at all," snapped Nikki, "I don't mention my exes all of the time around you." "She's not my ex," I firmly said, "And anyway she isn't interested in me. We've been over all this. God, you said you'd listen, not have a go." "That was before I knew you were going to start talking about that smug b*tch," snapped Nikki, "Why are you even thinking about her?" "Because I saw her yesterday!" I exclaimed. "So!?" snapped Nikki, "I saw your Mum yesterday but I'm not thinking about her when we're sat cuddled upon the sofa. How do you think I feel, sitting here with your arm around me, only to be told you're thinking of Naomi? How would you feel if I told you I was thinking about some other bloke?" "Oh, it's not like that," I said, rolling my eyes. "Don't you f*cking roll your eyes at me," Nikki snapped as she stepped forward and aggressively pushed me in the chest, "Who the f*ck do you think you are!?" I was a bit shocked that Nikki had pushed me, but I could see that she was angry. "Look," I said, holding my hands out, "Let's just calm down." "Don't tell me to calm down," snapped Nikki, "This is my house, not yours. I'll do what the Hell I want. God! You tell me you're thinking of another woman when we're cuddled up on the sofa, and then you tell me to calm down! It's like cheating." "Oh, come on," I said, "It's nothing like cheating." "So, you're telling me I'm wrong?" snapped Nikki. "I'm telling you, it's nothing like cheating," I said. "Oh my God, do you think of her when we're having sex!?" exclaimed Nikki. "Oh God," I said, starting to feel incredibly annoyed, "Now you're completely overreacting!" "Oh, so I'm overreacting, now am I?" snapped Nikki as she widened her eyes and looked rather enraged. "Look," I said, making a deep sigh, "Let's start again... I'm just saying that Naomi and I have been friends for ages, and I know what she did to you was wrong, but I do not like how things have been left between us." "Luke, she refused to apologise," said a firm Nikki, "To you and to me. She thinks I hit myself in the face. The woman is deranged, and just look how she treated you when you tried to talk to her. Look what she said about me. Why the Hell would you want someone like that in your life? Why would you want someone like that to be your friend?" "Yeah I know," I said, "I just think if I can get her to say sorry then things will be back to how they were." "Luke, you've already tried that, and it didn't work," said Nikki, "That woman is not going to say sorry, and I sure as Hell am going nowhere near her until she does. Look, why are we even talking about this? You walked out and told her you're not friends anymore." "Yeah, but maybe I was a bit harsh?" I said, "We've been through so much together and we do have a lot of friends in common." "So?" said Nikki, "That's not a reason to stay friends with someone. Maybe you should think about ditching those idiots you call friends and getting some new ones?" "You what?" I said. "Well, think about it," said Nikki, "Who is there? TJ? Total loser. Adult who acts like a child and is so immature and misogynistic it's unbelievable. Then there's Trudy. A stupid chav with low intelligence and no class at all. Naomi? Well, I've said all I'm going to say about her. Mike? I think it's generally agreed that he's a stone's throw away from being sectioned due to insanity and psychopathic tendencies. Who else? That Cyn woman. Well, she's just weird. Your Auntie Meryl's mad. You don't talk to Ash anymore. In fact, the only people who seem half decent are Roz, Madeline, Richard and your Mum." "Look," I said, "I know they've all got their flaws, but none of us are perfect. We've all been through a lot together." "Yes, I know," said Nikki, "You keep saying, but you're here now. You wouldn't have even known Naomi if you didn't end up trapped in that sexual health clinic together." "Maybe we were always destined to meet" I said, "The ACROBAT Seven. Me, Alex, TJ, Trudy, Freeda, Naomi and Mia." "Who are Freeda and Alex?" asked Nikki. "They're dead," I said, "They had relatives working with Mum and Ash at ACROBAT too." "Yeah, well all that's in the past," said Nikki, "And so is Naomi. I'm the main woman in your life now and that's how it should be. Just like you're the main man in my life." "Would you go in a mood with me if I speak to Naomi again and try and get her to say sorry to you?" I asked. Nikki rolled her eyes and sighed. "No," she said in a tiresome tone, "If you want to speak to her and try and get her to say sorry then you do that, but I think you're wasting your time. I don't want to be around her, and if you're keen to hang around her after what she did to me and after she refuses to apologise, then we are going to have problems."
It sometimes feels like Nikki has to turn everything into an argument, and I don't want to be arguing all of the time. It's also annoying how phobic she is about germs and how everything always has to be clean. I'm not sure if talking to Naomi is a good idea or not. I don't like how things were left between us, but I REALLY don't like her attitude towards Nikki and her reluctance to say sorry. I don't know what to do. Maybe I need to sleep on it. I just think I might have been a bit too rash with Naomi yesterday. If we can both have a calm and rational discussion, maybe we can sort this out and end up in a place where we are all happy. I really like Nikki and as far as I am concerned, she is in my life to stay. I just need to get Naomi to see how great she is like I can.
