Entry 1003
Wednesday 26th June 2019

I carried on with my lie today and met Cyn and Mike at The Beach Café after work. I told Nikki I was meeting Mum... When I got home, I was shocked to see who was waiting for me in the living room, and I was even more shocked by what this person had to say...

Work wasn't too bad. I had a bit of a run in with Natasha. I was sweeping the walkways around the containment area of The Hive when I could feel I had a stone stuck in my shoe. "Ouch!" I snapped. In a mood, I threw my sweeping brush to the ground, took off my shoe and removed the stone. "F*cking thing," I snapped, as I threw the stone down into the containment area and watched as it bounced off one of the infected's head. "What do you think you're doing!?" I loud voice from behind me said. I turned round to see Natasha walking towards me. "What do you think you're doing?" she angrily snapped. "Sweeping the hallways," I bluntly said, "Are you blind?" "Well first of all," said Natasha, "No, I'm not blind; second of all, you're not working. Your brush is on the floor, and third of all, if I EVER see you throwing stones at the infected and treating them with such disrespect, I will put you through a disciplinary." My jaw dropped open and my eyes nearly popped out of my head. "You what!?" I exclaimed. "You heard me," said a firm Natasha. "You're telling me off for throwing stones... At the infected!" I bluntly snapped. "They are people, Luke," said a firm Natasha, "Yes, they're infected, but they're still people." "No," I firmly said, "They're not people. They're dead. They're walking f*cking corpses." "Oh, Luke, I'm not going over all this again," said Natasha, "Anyway, if you believe they're really dead, don't you believe in having respect for the dead? You should have more respect." "THEY'RE INFECTED!" I loudly snapped. "Exactly," said a firm Natasha, "And when someone is ill and infected, you care for them. You don't throw stones at them." "They're not people!" I loudly snapped. "Luke, I am not going to keep having this conversation with you," said Natasha, "This is a warning. If I see you throwing stones at the residents again..." "Residents!?" I loudly exclaimed, interrupting Nikki as I gave a slight laugh. "IF I see you throwing stones at the residents again," said a firm Natasha, "I will give you a formal disciplinary." "Oh no," I sarcastically said, "A formal disciplinary!? That will really jeopardise my chances of being promoted from dogsbody to chief dogsbody won't it? Now you listen to me, first of all – you are blind. Blind to how dangerous those things are; second of all, I am bl**dy working. I was just getting a stone out of my shoe; third of all, if I want to chuck stones at the infected, I will, and fourth of all, you can stick your disciplinary up our arse." Natasha did not look happy. "Apologise," she firmly said. "You what?" I said. "Apologise," said Natasha, "Your behaviour is not on." I rolled my eyes and sighed. "Sorry, I told you to stick your disciplinary up tour arse," I said in an unenthusiastic tone. "Not to me," snapped Natasha, "Apologise to the infected resident you threw the stone at." Silence followed. "What?" I bluntly said. "You heard," said Natasha. "You want me to apologise to an infected?" I bluntly said. "Yes," said Natasha. "Get lost," I exclaimed, "I'm not saying sorry to an infected!" "Luke, if you don't lean down and say you're sorry to that poor man, I will inform Commander Blade." "Jesus Christ!" I loudly exclaimed, "You're off your f*cking head. Say sorry to a walking corpse? You're mad!" "The infected residents will be treated with dignity, Luke," said Natasha, "Now say sorry or I will get Jon Blade down here and you can have this out with him. Is that what you want?" I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I gave a very depressed sigh, rolled my eyes and leaned against the bannister and looked down into the outside containment area. "Sorry, I threw the stone at you," I said, not speaking to any particular infected. "Good," said Natasha, "There we go. Now get back to work and don't let it happen again." Natasha started to walk away. "Natasha," I said, calling to her. She stopped and turned around and looked at me. "You're deluded," I said, "You and this place are going to get us all killed. Natasha frowned at me and stormed off. What a stupid b*tch, I thought to myself. I know she thinks the infected are poorly people that should be cared for, but my God, that woman is so stupid and so naive. She'll have us serving the infected with three course meals next. Having a go at me for throwing a stone at the infected and then making me apologise! MADNESS!
