Entry 1090
Saturday 21st September 2019

There's been a few ups and downs today, some ups including spending time with Leo, and spending time with Naomi as her boyfriend, and some downs were speaking to Nikki, and posing naked for Angela's art class, but I'm still smiling, and I'm feeling really happy.

I got up early while Nikki was still in bed, and got the first bus to Cowes. I walked into the town centre and arrived at Sainsbury's just as it was opening. I wanted to buy some flowers for Naomi but due to the outbreak they didn't have any fresh flowers. In fact, they didn't really have anything romantic, so I went to the bit of grass that's opposite Cowes Beach, and whilst no one was looking, I yanked a few daffodils out of the ground, and made my way round to Ash and Naomi's.

I approached Ash and Naomi's, knocked on the door, and as it opened, I stuck my hand out holding the daffodils with a big smile on my face. It was Ash who answered the door. "Oh, Luke," he said, "Flowers for me. You shouldn't have done." "They're for Naomi you idiot," I said, "Is she in?" "She's upstairs with Sophie," said Ash, "Come in." I walked into the house, entered the living room and sat on the sofa. "Well, yesterday was a day you probably won't forget," said Ash. "You can say that again," I said, "Happiest day of my life." "Please don't rush into this, Luke," said Ash. "We're not going to," I said, "We were talking yesterday about how we're going to take it slow." "So, you're not going to start having sex straight away?" asked Ash. "Ash!?" I exclaimed. "Well, I just need to know," said Ash. "No, you bl**dy don't," I said, "I know Naomi's your sister and you care about her and all that but BECAUSE you're her brother, I'm not going to talk to you about sex. God, we've only just got together." "Yeah, well you turning up here at this time in the morning with some flowers makes me think you might be rushing into it," said Ash. "I'm just excited," I said, "Trust me, we're not rushing this. We're going to take it slow, but no matter how fast or slow we take it I'm not talking to you about any sex I do or don't have with your sister."

A few moments later, Naomi appeared with Sophie. I have her a hug and kiss (Naomi, not Sophie) and handed her the daffodils. "I did want to get you some nicer flowers," I said, "But this whole end of the world thing means there aren't really any decent flowers around." "Well, these are lovey," said Naomi. "They're not, really are they?" I giggled. "No," chuckled Naomi, "But it's the thought that counts."

Ash agreed to look after Sophie whilst Naomi and I spent the day together. We went for breakfast at Sails Café, we went for a walk on the beach and we spent the afternoon cuddled up in each other's arms laid on her bed watching films on her little TV. It was brilliant! "As we were cuddled up on Naomi's bed, I told Naomi what Ash had said earlier. "That's weird," said Naomi, "Really weird. We didn't see much of each other for years and now he's acting like a protective brother questioning your intentions like some sort of possessive Father." "Well, I don't think he was that bad," I said, "He was just saying that he didn't want us to rush into things." "Well, we're not rushing into things," said Naomi. "I know," I said, "I told him that." "He needs to mind his own business," said Naomi. "He cares about you," I said. "Yeah, well I can look after myself," said Naomi, "And let's be honest, me and you are a long way off having... Well... you know." "I don't want to rush you into... Well... You know," I said. "Look, let's not talk about... You know," said Naomi, "We can just take things slowly and take each day as it comes. Anyway, did you tell Nikki? What did she say?" "I haven't told her," I said, "She's in a mood with me because I told her that I had doubts she was really pregnant. I told her I want her to sort out a scan – a hospital appointment and that I want to go with her. I'm sick of her dodging all of my questions about the pregnancy, so if she won't answer my questions, I'll get a Doctor to answer them whilst she's having a scan." "Well, that's good," said Naomi, "But you still need to tell her about me and you. Tell you what. Why don't we do it together? We could do it now?" Feeling positive and all geared up I told Naomi that her suggestion was a good one, and we put our coats on and made our way back to Sandown.
