Entry 1150
Wednesday 20th November 2019

Bit of a depressing day.

I didn't sleep very well last night. I felt really guilty about lying to Mia and about all the stuff that went on yesterday.

Naomi and I met up with Mike and Sci-Fi Cyn at Sails Café. Mia didn't come. Mike and Cyn heard about all the drama that went on yesterday. I think all the gang have found out about what happened. "Tinsley isn't happy," said Sci-Fi Cyn, "He's walking around GRID HQ like a bear with a sore head. He's shouting at anyone who goes near him. Most of us are avoiding him and staying out of his way." "Is he going to look for Mia's baby?" asked Naomi. "I haven't heard him mention anything about that," said Sci-Fi Cyn. "What's he going to do about Harold?" asked Naomi. "I don't think Harold Endo is at the front of his mind right now," said Sci-Fi Cyn, "He's too busy sporadically going into Jon's holding cell and hitting him and insulting him. I heard someone mention torture. I can't believe this is happening. This isn't what I signed up for when I joined GRID." "Tinsley needs stopping," said Naomi. "I know," said Sci-Fi Cyn, "But he's in control of GRID and what remains of the army. He's got power. People are scared of him." "Put me in a room with him and he'll be the one scared of me," said Mike. "I thought you liked him?" said Naomi. "He's caused too many problems and been rude to my Luke too many times," said Mike, "He needs sorting out." "Yeah, well I don't think there's any chance of that happening," said Sci-Fi Cyn, "He's treating this island like his own little playground." "I just want to get Mia's baby back," I said. "You should have told me what was going on," said Sci-Fi Cyn, giving me a disappointing look. "Do you think I did the wrong thing?" I asked. An awkward silence followed. "I'll take that as a yes," I said. "Oh, Luke, I don't know," said Sci-Fi Cyn, "I just think you made it more complicated than it needed to be." "Be fair Cyn," said Naomi, "Luke was in a difficult position." "Anyway, what could you have done to help?" I asked Sci-Fi Cyn. "Me and Jon get on," said Cyn, "I could have spoken to him. Mia could have had her baby back and Jon could have left the island." "Cyn," I bluntly said, "Jon Blade has caused all sorts of problems. He's not the man he once was." "And who is he now then?" asked Sci-Fi Cyn. "I don't know," I said, "But he's not the man we once knew." "Are you still the man we once knew?" asked Sci-Fi Cyn. "What the Hell does that mean?" I defensively asked. "The Luke I knew would never lie to Mia and risk the safety of her baby," said Sci-Fi Cyn. "Leave Luke alone," snapped Mike, "It's not his fault." "I don't think you're being fair Cyn, said Naomi. "And I didn't think Mia's baby would be put at risk," I said, "I thought Blade was bringing the baby. I didn't think ANYONE would be put at risk." "Except Jon," said Sci-Fi Cyn, "You didn't care that Tinsley had set up an ambush." "No, I f*cking didn't," I snapped, "I was more bothered about Mia's baby, not the man who kidnapped her. Blade did all this. He made mistakes on the island and then he made mistakes when he left the island to fix the original mistakes. There's no going back for him now and the only person to blame for all of that is Jon Blade." "He's locked up in GRID HQ being assaulted by Tinsley," Sci-Fi Cyn bluntly said. "And that's awful," I said, "And I wouldn't wish that on him, but I'm not going to feel bad about it. He stood there goading Tinsley. He knew that Tinsley was going to kick off. I might have been involved in bringing Blade out of hiding, and I might have had a part to play in Tinsley locking him in a cell in GRID HQ, but it's Blade's behaviour that landed him in the cell, not mine. I'm not to blame for any of this. Yes, I feel bad that we don't know where Mia's baby is, but I didn't kidnap the infected brat. In fact, I did everything I could get her back. Again, Blade kidnapped the baby, and he's left it God knows where. I'm sick of everyone throwing sh*t at me!" "It's OK babes," said Mike, rubbing my back, "I still love you, and I can see why you did what you did." "Cheers, Mike," I said. "Cyn, you said yourself what a nightmare Tinsley is," said Naomi, "What do you think he'd do to someone if he found out they knew where Blade was, but they didn't tell him? He'd throw them into prison, or worse... Throw them into The Hive. It's not a chance you'd take so why would you expect Luke to take it? He's got a son for Christ's sake." An awkward silence followed. "Let's just hope all of this works out," said Sci-Fi Cyn, "Maybe Jon will tell tinsley where the baby is, the baby will be taken to GRID HQ, Mia will get to see her and if we're lucky Jon will end up in prison rather than The Hive." "I just need to try and sort things out with Mia," I said, "I honestly didn't think Blade would just abandon the baby." "He hasn't abandoned the baby, Luke," said Cyn, "You told me that he said the baby was safe." Yeah, but that's all he said," I said, "He didn't tell me where she is or who she's with." "If Jon says she's safe then she's safe," said Sci-Fi Cyn. "Hard to believe the word of a man who has lied and cheated," I said. "Only because he had no other choice," said Sci-Fi Cyn. "There's always a choice," said Naomi. "What's Tinsley going to do about Harold?" asked Mike. "I don't know," said Sci-Fi Cyn, "I heard him saying something about making some sort of an announcement, but I don't know when he's going to do it or what he's going to say." "If he tells the whole island that the man who created the virus is living in a house on Arctic Road next door to me there will be riots," I said. "I doubt it," said Sci-Fi Cyn, "People on this island are scared of Tinsley. We know that. I think he'll tell everyone that there's an infected baby on the island and that he wants everyone to look out for her because she could be the key to a cure which Harold Endo will be involved in creating with GRID scientists. I think that along with Tinsley's aggression and his threats of throwing people into The Hive will make islanders toe the line and leave Endo alone." "Well, I guess we'll have to wait and see what Tinsley says," said Naomi, "For now it's good that Endo's staying inside and keeping his head down." "Whilst Jon is locked up in the headquarters of the building housing the army he used to manage, being beaten and tortured," said Sci-Fi Cyn. I do love Sci-Fi Cyn, but she gets on my f*cking nerves sometimes. It's like she thinks Jon Blade can do no wrong, which given all the massive mistakes he's made, I can't see how she can think that! I feel bad that he's locked up in GRID HQ having the sh*t kicked out of him by that psycho Tinsley, but I'm sorry... He's only got himself to blame.

I went round to see Mia earlier, but she refused to see me, which Harold took great delight in being all smug about. Tw*t!

Mum and Auntie Meryl spent most of the day criticising the choices I made yesterday but I told them both in no uncertain terms to f*ck off and mind their own business. All I'm bothered about right now is doing what I can to put things right with Mia and find out where her baby is. I wonder if Tinsley would let me talk to him...
