Entry 1046
Thursday 8th August 2019

Tinsley turned up at The Hive today, and it all kicked off!

It was the usual boring day where I was sweeping the walkways above the containment area and cleaning the bannisters when Gary approached me. He asked me how I was getting on and how things were going with me and Nikki. "Not too bad," I said, "She really wants Leo back. To be honest I really want Leo back too." "I can understand that," said Gary, "If I had a son and he was away from me I'd want him back with me. Mind you, he won't be away from you for too long, will he?" "I don't think so," I said, "I hope not, anyway."

All of a sudden, some loud noises were heard coming from the courtyard area near the main entrance. Gary and I turned and looked towards the entrance and frowned with confusion. "What's going on over there?" I asked. With a serious look on his face, Gary took a tight grip of his machine gun and quickly made his way across the walkway towards the Hive entrance. I followed.

When Gary and I made our way down from the walkways, we found Acting Commander Richard Tinsley stood in the middle of the courtyard with an infected man! With an angry and determined look on his face he was holding one end of a neck-grab implement, whilst the other end was tightly gripped around the infected man's neck. Natasha was stood a few yards away from Richard T with a distressed and angry look on her face. Other GRID soldiers were dotted around the courtyard area looking on at the developing scene. The infected man had the usual pale complexion and constricted pupils. The left side of his face had no skin, his damaged skull and pieces of rotting flesh were visible for all to see. With fire damaged clothes and his ribs protruding through the skin on his lower torso, it was obvious that this infected man was one of the victims from the Ryde incident. He was viciously growling at Tinsley and desperately attempting to aggressively lunge at him, but using the neck-grab, and his brute strength, Richard T kept him at arm's length. "Richard, stop this," said Natasha sounding panicked and distressed. "I WANT YOU ALL TO SEE THIS!" Tinsley shouted, addressing all of the GRID soldiers, "I AM THE COMMANDER AND CHIEF AROUND HERE! I AM THE HEAD OF SAFETY AND SECURITY! I AM THE ONE IN CHARGE OF THIS ISLAND AND IF ANY OF YOU HAVE GOT ANY DOUBT ABOUT THAT. MAYBE THIS WILL CONVINCE YOU!" "Richard, please," said Nikki, "We can talk about this." "NOW, THIS LITTLE NUISANCE, HERE!" Tinsley loudly announced, looking at Natasha, "MIGHT BE IN CHARGE OF THIS CONCRETE SH*T HEAP, BUT I AM THE ONE IN CHARGE OVERALL. I WILL NOT BE UNDERMINED – ESPECIALLY BY SOME NOBODY THAT USED TO WORK IN GREGGS! NO ONE WILL UNDERMINE ME! NOW I KNOW LITTLE MISS SUFFRAGETTE HERE WAS OUTISDE PROTESTING YESTERDAY! SHE WANTS ME OUT OF A JOB AND WANTS HER SH*TTY PROPOSALS REINSTATED. F*CK HER PROPOSALS! F*CK HER PROTESTS AND F*CK HER! I AM NOT GOING ANYWHERE AND IF I WANT TO KILL AN INFECTED THEN I WILL! JUST LIKE THIS!" Tinsley removed his army knife from his belt and quickly plunged the blade into the infected man's forehead, instantly killing him. The infected man fell to the floor, Tinsley threw the neck-grab to the ground, and returned his knife to his belt. Natasha quickly made her way to the dead infected man with a look of horror and sorrow on her face. "I HOPE THAT MAKES THINGS CLEAR!" yelled Tinsley, "I'M THE BOSS! NOT THIS WHINEY LITTLE B*TCH! YOU LISTEN TO ME; NOT HER! IF I WANT TO KILL EVERY LAST INFECTED IN THIS PLACE THEN I WILL! THINGS ARE CHANGING. GET USED TO IT!" Tinsley walked over to Natasha who looked angry but also distraught. "You have no power here sweetheart," he said, as he was intimidatingly close to her face, "Deal with it." Natasha looked really upset. This was the first time I've seen her looking so upset. I actually felt quite sorry for her. Tinsley left The Hive, and I walked over to Natasha. "You OK, Natasha?" I asked. "Leave me alone," said Natasha, as she stood up, wiped the tears away from her face, and stormed off. I felt a bit annoyed that the silly cow was crying. It's like she sees the infected as her children or something, but then again, I did feel sorry for her at the same time. Tinsley was really intimidating with her and he made her look like a right mug in front of all of the soldiers.

When I got home, I told Nikki about what Tinsley did at The Hive. "I can't say I'm surprised," said Nikki, "The man is a control freak. You said you'd stay out of his way." "I did," I said. "It doesn't sound like it," said Nikki, "You were at The Hive and he was at The Hive." "Nikki, that's where I work," I said, "Your ex is the Acting Commander. I'm going to see him at The Hive every now and then. Don't worry, if I see him, I'll be staying out of his way. The least amount of time I spend with that guy, the better."

Sometimes it feels like Nikki's just looking for a reason to have a go at me, but then sometimes I can see that she's trying to control her temper. I really hope this counselling works. I was thinking of going round next door to see Natasha, but based on Nikki's unpredictable mood, and the tense relationship between Natasha and I, I thought I'd better leave it. She's a silly cow, but I hope she didn't let Tinsley get to her too much.
