Entry 1136
Wednesday 6th November 2019Mia's had the baby... but the sh*t has the fan!
Whilst most of us spent the morning and the afternoon pacing up and down and feeling worried about Mia, the early evening was when it all kicked off. Harold and Joan were upstairs with Mia, whilst Naomi, Blade, Michael and I were sat in the staffroom listening to Mia's sporadic screams feeling completely useless. "God, I hate this," I said, pacing up ad down, "She's in pain up there. It's getting worse we should do something." "We need to wait for her waters to break," said Michael, "There's not much else we can do." "Do you think Harold knew that this would happen?" Naomi asked me, "Do you think he knew that Mia would go through all this pain when he injected her?" "I don't know," I said, "I stopped trying to understand his mental thought process ages ago, but I wouldn't put anything past him."
At that moment Seth burst into the staff room and fell into a heap on the floor. "Oh, my God" gasped Naomi. We all gathered around Seth and helped him to his feet. We noticed that blood spatter on the right-side of his face. He looked distressed, was breathing heavily and had clearly been running. "Oh my God, he's got blood on him," gasped Naomi. "It's not my blood," said Seth. "Did any of blood get in your mouth?" I asked, feeling rather cautious and preparing myself to possibly stab Seth in the back of the head. "No," said Seth, trying to catch his breath, "I think I'd have turned by now if I had any infected blood in me, don't you?" "What's going on?" asked Naomi, "Where have you been? We thought you were upstairs with Mia." "I went outside," said Seth. "What did you go outside for?" asked Michael, "Mia's up there, minutes away from going into labour." Seth continued trying to compose himself. He then looked up and gave Blade a rather guilty expression. "Whose blood is it?" Blade calmly yet intimidatingly asked Seth. We all noticed the awkward look on Seth's face as the tense silence lingered. Seth walked over to the sink, picked up a tea towel and wiped the blood from his face. "OK," said Seth is a firm tone, as he turned to look at Blade, "I'm sorry OK?" "Sorry?" said Naomi, "Sorry for what?" Again, a tense silence lingered as we all looked at Seth with concern and confusion. "They're dead," said Seth. Another short-paused fell on us as Naomi and I exchanged confusing looks. "What do you mean?" I asked, "Who's dead?" "He means my men, don't you?" Blade said to Seth, giving him an uncomfortable threatening stare. "I told them to stay put," said Seth, "I told them. I said, that if they stay put and just wait, that they'd be alright." "Where did you put them?" asked Michael. "In the basement beneath the abandoned Pound Land," said Seth, "They were comfortable. They had food and water." "Never mind where he stuck them," snapped Blade, "What the HELL happened!?" "I just went to check on them," said Seth, "I told them the other day that it looked like Mia was going to be giving birth, and that they'd be released very soon. All they had to do was sit and wait." "WHAT HAPPENED!?" Blade angrily shouted. "They'd managed to get out of the basement," said Seth, "When I arrived the whole shopfloor of Pound Land was covered in infected, including your men. All of them. I'm sorry Jon but they're all infected." "My men are dead?" Blade quietly asked. Seth nodded. "All of them?" asked Blade. Again, Seth nodded. A tense silence lingered as we could see the fury building up inside Blade, and then all of a sudden, he snapped. He threw himself at Seth in a fit of rage and violently grabbed hold of him by the scruff of the neck and shoved him up against the wall. We all ran towards the pair, but the furious look on Blade's face made it obvious that we shouldn't get too close. "YOU KILLED THEM!" Blade angrily shouted, "YOU KIDNAP MY MEN, CHUCK THEM IN SOME SH*TTY BASEMENT IN A POUND LAND AND LEAVE THEM THERE TO DIE! YOU KILLED THEM!! YOU KILLED THEM!!!" "Jon, let him go," said Naomi. "NO!" Seth angrily shouted at Blade, pushing away from him, "You killed them. You! Not me! YOU! ALL YOU! I asked you for help! I ASKED YOU, and you said no! This is all on you!" "You need to remember who you're talking to boy," snapped Blade, "I am your commander and chief." "You WERE my commander and chief," said Seth, "But not anymore. I'm sorry about what happened to your men, I am truly sorry, but this is not on me." "YOU LEFT THEM DOWN THERE TO ROT!" Blade angrily shouted. "I WAS GOING TO LET THEM OUT!" Seth yelled. "I TOLD THEM! I TOLD THEM TO STAY PUT!"
