The quartet were in Transfiguration class with the rest of Gryffindor and Slytherin. Y/N was sat next to Hermione who looked like she had a question that she was dying to ask.

"Could I have your attention please? Right. Now, today, we will be transforming animals into water goblets. Like so." McGonagall turned to a bird that was perched on her desk and pointed her wand at it. "One, two, three. Vera Verto."

The bird transformed into a water goblet which earned a bunch of excited woahs from the class.

"Now it's your turn. Who would like to go first? Ah, Mr. Weasley. 'one, two, three. Vera Verto." McGonagall said as Ron cleared his throat.

Y/N watched intently. Ron counted silently in his head before casting the spell.

"Vera Verto." Ron casted, the spell 'worked'. Scabbers did turn into a goblet, but the goblet had fur and a rats tail. The class laughed.

"Careful drinking any wine from there Ron, you might get ratarsed." Y/N joked earning a laugh from everyone, even the corners of McGonagalls mouth curved into what looked like a smile. Hermione hit him on the head with the book.

"Don't be cruel to him, he's your friend." Hermione said, she could see Y/N was holding back another joke.

"That wand needs replacing Mr. Weasley." McGongall said calmly. As she went to head to her desk Hermiones hand shot up. "Yes, Miss granger?"

"Professor, I was wondering if you could tell us about the Chamber of Secrets." Hermione asked as Y/N looked to McGonagall, the class was completely silent and McGonagall looked uneased by the subject.

"Very well. Well, you all know, of course, that Hogwarts was founded over a thousand years ago by the four greates witches and wizards of the age: Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw, and Salazar Slytherin. Now, three of the founders coexisted quite harmoniously, one did not."

"Three guesses who." Ron said as McGonagall gave a slight nod.

"Salazar Slytherin wished to be more selective about the students admitted to Hogwarts. He believed that magical learning should be kept within all-magic families. In other words, pure-bloods. Unable to sway the others, he decided to leave the school. Now, according to legend, Slytherin had built a hidden chamber in this castle known as the Chamber of Secrets. Well, shortly before departing, he sealed it, until that time when his own true Heir returned to the school. The Heir alone would be able to open the Chamber and unleash the horror within, and by so doing, purge the school of all those who, in Slytherin's view, were unworthy to study magic."

"Muggle-borns." Hermione stated as McGonagall nodded.

"Well, naturally, the school has been searched many times. No such chamber has been found." McGonagall said as she again went to approach her desk only for Hermione to stop her with another question.

"Professor? What exactly does legend tell us lies within the Chamber?"

"The Chamber is said to be home to something that only the Heir of Slytherin can control. It is said to be the home...of a monster." McGonagall said, Y/N could tell she was unnerved by the subject.

"A monster? This sounds like a job for you Y/N, after the troll, whatever this is should be easy for you

"A monster? This sounds like a job for you Y/N, after the troll, whatever this is should be easy for you." Harry joked as Y/N smirked.

"Soon as it shows it's face, I'll happily redirect it the afterlife." Y/N quipped. McGonagall just looked at them both with a stern look.

As the quartet were walking through the halls after class they were discussing the story time with Professor McGonagall.

"Do you think there really is a Chamber of Secrets?" Ron asked.

"Yes. Couldn't you tell? McGonagall's worried. All the teachers are." Hermione stated like it was fact.

"But if there really is there really is a Chamber of Secrets, and it really has been opened, then that means..."

"The Heir of Slytherin has returned to Hogwarts." Y/N finished Harry's sentence.

"But the question is...who is it?" Hermione said as Y/N put on a false thinking face.

"Hmm, lets think. Who do we know who thinks all Muggle-borns are scum?" Ron said sarcastically.

"If you're talking about Malfoy--"

"Of course! You heard what he said. 'you'll be next Mudbloods.'" Ron said they continued walking through the hallways.

"I heard him. But Malfoy, the Heir of Slytherin?" Hermione said.

"Maybe Ron's right Hermione. I mean, look at his family. The whole lot of them have been in Slytherin for centuries." Harry pointed out.

"Crabbe and Goyle must know. Maybe we could trick them into telling." Ron said as Hermione scoffed.

"Even they aren't that thick, but there are other ways. Mind you they might be difficult, not to mention we'd be breaking about fifty school rules on both methods, and it'll be dangerous, very dangerous. Method one, Y/N can make them tell us. Method two, we can discuss if the first one fails." Hermione said as Y/N looked at her.

"What? You want me to beat the information out of them? Not very subtle, but it would boost my morale." Y/N remarked as Hermione sighed.

"Yes, and once you're done, erase the memories of your questioning." Hermione said as Y/N nodded.

"In the mean time, you prepare method two." Y/N said as Hermione agreed...
