Welp, I wasn't supposed to be here! I banged a fist on the door of an old school bus that blocked my path. I'd tried everything. Climbing over it didn't work because of the footing and the height. I couldn't squeeze through the bus door and climb through the wreckage like I had last time. Blowing it up would only cause more shit to call and add to the pile, maybe killing me in the process. Not to mention that after going through all this shit, I wasn't too fond of blowing anything else up in the Divide...

I heard a voice behind me, "Won't work. Have to find another way around."

I recognized the deepness of it, and turned to face Ulysses. Who wouldn't recognize his voice? It was absolutely godly! I frowned at him, his muscular arms crossed and leaned sideways against a rocky underside of a cliff. He pushed off the wall, keeping his arms crossed but staying on his feet, "Know a way? On that machine on your wrist? A map, isn't there?"

After our past... issues... he still had a habit of drilling me with questions. I didn't mind, seeing as he really couldn't help it. I looked at my Pip, "What, this old thing? It has a map, alright, but only of places I've actually walked myself."

"Handy enough. Tells you where you've been and where you can go."

I raised my brows, "Yes, Courier, that is, in fact, the purpose of a map."

He narrowed his eyes at me curiously and I couldn't help but dart my eyes to his biceps. He spoke warily, as always, "Calling one another Courier is old. We are more than two Courier's trapped in the same hell. After our little problem, friends is what we are." I stayed quiet and he smiled a little, raising his brows, "Am I incorrect?"

I looked past him at the Divide I killed. At my silence, he split into a dashing grin. That was the first time I'd seen him smile, and it seemed to stir something in my gut. It... made me feel like we really were friends after going through hell together. I smiled softly back, "Well, Ulysses, you know this hellhole better than I do. You have an idea of where to go?"

He gave me a look telling me to follow him and I did. He spoke to me over his shoulder, "Of course I do. I own this place. Not quite how you owned it, but own it still. There are many pathways, lost under dust and covered in history." He stopped walking, ducking a little under a tunnel, and holding out a hand, "This journey will require trust, and that is not our strong suit, but I hope you'll walk more of the Divide by my side."

I took his hand and we delved into the collapsed tunnel.
