"Uhm... MacCready...?"
I heard a loud groan, "What did you do now?" He strolled into the room, and I held my hands behind my back, a guilty look on my face, "Promise you won't be mad."
His attitude quickly changed from 'jokingly sassy' to 'mercenary investigator'. He immediatly drilled me with questions, and I answered them all.
"What the heck did you get yourself into?"
"...Nothing."
"Did you kill someone?"
"Just some Gunners..."
He got tired of my tight-lipped attitude, and tapped his finger on the table impatiently, "Just tell me what you did! I don't have this much patience, you know that!"
I did my best to hide my smile. From behind my back, I held up Duncan's cure in my hand. His features immediatly changed to silent awe, and his eyes teared up. He put a hand on his forehead, taking off his hat to run his fingers through his hair. He let out a joyous, breathy laugh before scooping me up into his arms, twirling me, and pushing his lips to mine. He looked at it in my hand, and carefully took it into his. A tear made its way onto his cheek, and he laughed, "You... saved my sons life... I- I can't believe this, I didn't think... how did you?"
I smiled, "I read your diary. That's what I didn't want you to be mad about."
"Mad? Hell, I could never feel anything but passion towards you, especially after this! You are he most incredible person on the earth, you know that?"
I blushed, "You tell me daily."
He scooped me up into his arms, kissing me passionately before running out into the streets of Sanctuary to shout the good news to everyone. I giggled and snuck back to his diary, flipping through pages I missed. He came back, and nervously asked me how much I read.
I smirked, "You seem to have some interesting ideas about mutfruit."
