I looked around, watching as the Cats took on five gunners towards the north. Quickly, I shook the back of the power armor, watching anxiously as it opened for entrance.

I wasn't a member of the Atom Cats or the Gunners. I'd had my eyes on the Cats for a while, with their power armor and the level of their sheer greaser-ey, they interested me. More importantly, their power armor interested me. I could sell this for maybe 6,000 caps! The gunners showing up wasn't expected, but definitely helpful.

I put a hand on the side of the armor, preparing to hoist myself in when a hand gripped my upper arm at a pressure point. My gut wrenched and I looked behind me to see a girl with no armor on and no weapon out, obviously not fighting. She spoke in a hissed whisper, "That ain't cool, sis. Wait 'till Zeke gets an ear of this. You're one slick daddy-o ain't ya? What're you? A gunner? A raider?"

I blushed, "I'm broke, is what I am," I laughed nervously and her manicured cherry-red nails dug further into my pressure point, making me yelp as she dragged me into the garage. There was an old car, and she threw me in the drivers seat, handcuffing me to the worn steering wheel until their feud with the gunners was handled. I grumbled curses as her as she walked off.

I yanked the handcuff chain a few times, trying to weasel my hand out of it, even able to reach around the open hood and smother one hand in oil, and scoop it onto my cuffed wrist. It didn't help, but it sure made a mess! The gunfire ceased and I felt my muscles tense as I shrank into the old leather seat, one leg on a broken pedal, and the other on the ground out of the open door. I heard a quiet conversation behind me, and soon enough, the hushed noise of power armor opening. Soon enough, a man stepped in front of me, undoing the handcuffs, and instead handcuffing his wrist in one, mine in the other.

I stared dumbfounded, "The fuck're you doin'?"

The guy looked to the girl who 'arrested' me, "I'll talk to this thief, and we'll settle things out without gunfire, Rowdy. Promise ya."

The girl named Rowdy shook her head, "You're one crazy cat."

The guy smiled proudly at the name, turning around and forcing me to walk alongside him. He led me to a back shed with what seemed to be home appliances. Must be his place. He looked out of a small window, then un-cuffed my wrist, keeping his wrist in and having the empty cuff dangle. He went to his fridge, finding a package of what seemed to be orange crackerized fish. He offered me some and I declined. He sat on the bed, and patted for me to sit next to him.

I didn't. I stayed standing by the door. It was unlocked. The man rubbed a salty hand on his sheets, then held it out to me, "Name's Zeke; coolest Cat here, and anywhere else in the Commonwealth! You are...?"

"I'm... not supposed to be here. Look, I tried to steal some power armor, I got caught." I slapped my own hand lightly, "Bad." I shrugged, "Lesson learned, I'll be going now." I stood up making a move towards

He stood up, the bowl in his lap spilling on the floor, "Now wait you just a second, dad, you can't just--"

I rolled my eyes, "No one calls people 'dad' anymore, Zeke. It's uncool."

"So is stealing the power armor I souped up and not even taking me out on a date afterwards! Just stay for a minute, and if ya ain't interested, you can go without punishment, alright?"

"...alright..."

He smiled, and it made my heart stutter. He moved to block the door, leaning against it. He nodded to the floor, "Try not to step on the goldfish. Don't need crumbs around here. Might attract radroaches."

I sat on the bed, watching my step.

He spoke again as he grabbed a broom and swept, "Just by the looks of you, I'd say you have some Atom Cat potential. Maybe go apologize to Rowdy, and see if she has any work for you to do. If she asks why, just say you're makin' up for your, uh... previous mistake."

"What makes you think I'm Cat material?"

"Not gonna lie, I think you have a real nice set of legs, and your hair is gorgeous. Also your eyes", he trailed off, blushing, "You just have that look about you. Not to mention; stealing from us takes balls."

"But I didn't steal from you."

"You stole my heart."

I laughed quietly, "That was awful. Alright. Ill give you Cat's a shot."

"Will you give me a shot, too?"

"Sure, Zeke."
