First Impressions (ex. Cover, blurb, title)
-Title: The title is fine, but from an outsider's point of view at first glance, it doesn't tell much about the plot.
-Cover: The cover is nice.
-Blurb: The blurb is fine.
Mechanics (ex. Grammar, sentence structure, etc.)
Only a couple minor typos or grammar mistakes, but otherwise pretty flawless.
There was a good handle on the point of views.
Plot/Characters
- Excellent story, lots of good writing and metaphors.
- One comment would be that it does feel a little long and perhaps drawn out a little. A possible remedy could be to split it into a series of three novellas.
(The following reflects Ellie's opinion)
- I really enjoyed Silvia's personality and the way she interacted with Jay/Jim.
- I especially loved Chapter 83, The Edge. The way she handled herself and the way the emotions played out was great.
- Another part I really enjoyed was the end of Chapter 94, Behind the Sun, (the parallel chapter, 95), and then the iconic Chapter 96.
- I liked how the story included some Brazilian culture that felt well explained and integrated.
I think that you created really compelling characters that told a more unique narrative. Best of luck to you with your writing!
