The next day, while Gerion is sitting with Lyra in the great hall.
"There's something I must tell you, mother" Gerion says.
"What is it, my boy?" Lyra asks.
"I...did things with one of father's soldiers", Gerion says.
"What sort of things?" Lyra asks.
"I've taken one of father's young soldiers as my lover", Gerion says.
"I see, who is the youth? And does your father know about it?" Lyra asks.
"Aerion Waters", Gerion says.
"Oh yes, that's it, your father actually mentioned it to me while we were laying in bed the other night", Lyra says.
"Are you angry with me for this, mother?" Gerion asks.
"No, my boy, and neither is your father, we're just concerned for you", Lyra says.
"And for house Lannister? For what it means for house Lannister that one of its sons has taken one of his father's soldiers to bed?" Gerion asks.
"Yes, that too", Lyra says.
"Daemon and father made it clear that if he becomes a problem for us, he will be sent away, I made it clear to him myself too", Gerion says. "He seemed to get the memo and won't stand in the way for my marriage and won't become a problem for me, for my marriage or for our family"
"That's good, very good", Lyra says. "Let's summon some food and wine, for just the two of us"
"Want me to summon a servant?" Gerion asks, ready to get up from the table to summon a servant to bring food and wine for himself and his mother. "Bring food for me and my lady mother, roasted chicken, bread, butter and wine"
"Yes, lord Gerion", a servant girl says, summoning food and wine for the young lion lord and his lady mother.

The servant girl show up after a couple minutes together with a couple other girls, carrying the food and wine for lady Lyra and her son. After a gesture from Gerion, the servant girls set up the table for the lady and the young lord, her son.
"Set up the table for us", Gerion says.
"Yes, lord Gerion", the servant girls say, getting to work setting up the table for the young lord and his lady mother.

When the young lord and his mother are left alone, they enjoy their meal and get back to their conversation about what to do about the situation Gerion's lust put them in.
"Daemon demanded that I stay married to my wife and lay with her often enough to give house Lannister heirs", Gerion says.
"And will you?" Lyra says.
"Yes, I will remain married to my wife and lay with her often enough to give house Lannister and house Stark heirs", Gerion says.
"Father and Daemon both demanded it from me, that as long as I lay with my lady wife often enough to get her with child, I will be allowed to also lay with Aerion. And Aerion in turn will have no obligations to me and will be allowed to lay with whomever he wants while I'm with my wife"
"Good, good", Lyra says.
"Has father told you of the man he had when he was a young man, before meeting you?" Gerion asks.
"Yes, your father told me about the young man he had when he was a young man, before meeting me" Lyra says.
"And how did you react to those news?" Gerion asks.
"I didn't really react to it, I was intrigued though, by what your father told me about it", Lyra says.
"Did father tell you of the man he had?" Gerion asks.
"He told me that it was a soldier in your grandfather's service, like with you and your lover, he is a soldier in your father's service", Lyra says. "He described to me what they did to each other, how secretive they had to be, because your father grew up as heir to house Lannister"
"What did he tell you they did?" Gerion asks.
"Gave each other handjobs, blowjobs and Jaime fucked the man, but wasn't fucked in return", Lyra says.
"So handjob, blowjob but no penetration", Gerion says simply.
"He's only ever done that with me, I suppose he was worried that it would reach your grandfather, he waited until he was married to me to be penetrated, to accept penetration, even though he had wanted it before" Lyra says. "He hasn't dared to do it with another man, because he was afraid that word of it would reach your grandfather and the realm"
"I think that everyone would gossip if it had been father and if it had reached grandfather or the realm, because of who father is", Gerion says.
"I think you're probably right, your father was born in to the wealthiest house in the seven kingdoms, as was you and your siblings, but you and your siblings were also born in to the most powerful northern house of the seven kingdoms, but your father and I are further from the iron throne than your father was when he was born", Lyra says.
"Because grandfather was hand of the king when father was born", Gerion says simply.
"Yes, because your grandfather was hand of the king when your father was born", Lyra says. "And when you were born, your uncle was hand of the king, but we were closer to the Iron Throne because by then, your aunt had become queen."
"What's that like for you, mother?" Gerion asks. "Being the sister of the queen"
"I could have become queen myself, you know", Lyra says. "The old dragon wanted me to wed king Rhaegar when we were young, but the then prince Rhaegar didn't want to marry me and I didn't want to marry him either"
"Who did the then prince Rhaegar want to marry?" Gerion asks.
"The then prince Rhaegar wanted to marry your aunt Brianna, whom is now his queen, and I wanted to marry your father, and he wanted to marry me", Lyra says. "Your father was a kings guard for the old dragon, but when your grandfather Tywin learned that your father wished to marry the young woman who was meant to marry prince Rhaegar, he had a discussion with king Aerys, prince Rhaegar, your grandfather Benjen and your great uncle Eddard, it was decided that your aunt would marry Rhaegar and that one of either my cousins or your father's cousins would take your father's place in the kings guard"
"And king Aerys clearly agreed", Gerion states.
"He did, he did indeed, after a few cleaver words from both your grandfathers and your great uncle", Lyra says. "He agreed to free your father from his obligations as a king's guard and me from my pending betrothal to Rhaegar"
"So if it wasn't for the now king Rhaegar, me and my siblings wouldn't exist", Gerion states.
"You could say that, if it wasn't for the now king Rhaegar, your father would have been his king's guard, I, mostly likely his queen, and you and your siblings, princes and princesses of the realm", Lyra says. "Technically you and your siblings already are princes and princesses of the realm, since your aunt became queen, I and you children became princesses and princes of the realm"
"And father?" Gerion asks.
"Your father remains a lord", Lyra says.
"I see", Gerion says.
"We are officially lords and ladies of our house", Lyra says lightly.
"What happens if king Rhaegar dies?" Gerion asks. "Will that lead to war?"
"I doubt that king Rhaegar's death will lead to war", Lyra says. "The kings and queens children are those truly in line to Iron Throne, since I declined to offer to marry king Rhaegar, my children are not in line for the Iron Throne, since my children's father is not the king of the Seven Kingdoms"
"If it leads to war, I suppose whoever wins the war takes the throne", Gerion says.
"I suppose you're right, my boy", Lyra says. "But let's hope it doesn't come to that"
"Let's hope not", Gerion says. "Even though father, Daemon and I are all soldiers"
"I have no desire to send either of you out to war" Lyra says. "Unless it becomes absolutely necessary"
"I hope it doesn't become necessary for us to be sent off to war, even though I'm father's heir and likely would be sent off to war as his second in command", Daemon, entering the room, says.
"I'm sure it won't", Gerion says lightly. "Don't worry, big brother"
"Yeah, don't worry, my sons, your father and I will do everything in our power to protect you and to prevent our involvement in a possible war", Lyra says calmly.
"We have done it before, done what we've had to do to protect our family and prevent war", Gerion says.
"And we will do it again should be have to", Daemon, entering the room, says.
"Yes, we will", Gerion says.

Jaime's tall slim frame enters the room without a word, silent as a shadow and limber as a cat. He stands back listening to the conversation between his sons and his wife.

Lyra lifts her eyes and notices her husband in the doorway.
"Jaime", Lyra says.
"We've had word from the capital", Jaime says. "From Tyrion"
"What does uncle Tyrion say?" Daemon asks.
"Your grandfather has fallen ill during his visit in the capital", Jaime says.
"Tywin? Or my father?" Lyra asks.
"Had it been lord Benjen, I would've come to you sooner", Jaime says. "Lord Tywin, my father, has fallen ill"
"Where is he now?" Lyra asks.
"He and my lady mother are in King's Landing", Jaime says.
"Ride to their side, my love", Lyra says. "I will come after you, all you have to do is send for me"
"I will send for you should it be needed", Jaime says. "But I will ride King's Landing with Will and three other guards and one of my groomsmen, I've told Bronn to be ready to come after me with you and the children."
"How soon are you leaving?" Lyra asks.
"First thing tomorrow morning, after we've broken the fast, I told Will to be ready to leave as soon as we've finished eating", Jaime says.
"Then we better make the most of our last evening together for a while then", Lyra says, kissing Jaime.
"Oh, we will, lady Lannister", Jaime says, smiling against her lips as they kiss each other again.
