In many old movies and video games, the plot is simple.

The Hero must save the girl from the Villain.

So, at this point, your life might as well be one of those old video games or movies.

Except much worse.

Because, unlike thos ladies, who just have to sit in a cage for a few hours, yours was months at a time, and instead of sitting in a cage, you were tortured.

But no matter what...

No matter how bad it got...

You still had hope, deep down.

Because you knew... you knew your saviour would always arrive.

He burst through the door, and the first thing out of your captors mouth was

"Well well well... if it isn't the Super Mario to (Y/N)'s Pauline~"

"God Dabi, you really don't know your old school video games, do you?" Hawks asked. "You called (Y/N) Pauline, referencing Donkey Kong. That means you should have called me Jumpman. You know, with you hanging around Shigiraki so much, I really thought you'd know that."

"Yeah no I really don't care." Dabi said in response.

That was how it always happened.

They have some dumb argument, then fight, then Dabi disappears somewhere, and Hawks rescues you.

Hawks takes you back to his place, so he can keep you safe.

"I won't let him take you this time, I swear..." He said to you. "But if he does, just remember (Y/N)... I'll always be there to save you."

"I know..." You responded, smiling.

You'd stay with Hawks for a few days, then, the cycle repeats again.

Despite Hawks' watchful gaze, Dabi is always able to take you.

And then Hawks would rescue you.

Then you were taken again.

Then rescued.

Taken, rescued, taken, rescued, taken, rescued, taken, rescued, taken, rescued...

That was your whole life.

But it was always with them.

You were always taken by Dabi, and rescued by Hawks.

Your entire life revolved around them.

No other Heroes or Villains seemed to know you even existed.

And it's because...

Your saviour isn't what you think.

Dabi is in love with you, but so is Hawks.

And so... they were able to find something that worked for both of them.

They just took turns with you.

And they'll keep doing this until you fall in love with one of them.

And when you do, the winner will kill the loser.

Because to them...

This was just a game.
