The Calm (Part 2)

Luffy stepped out onto the deck and stopped in his tracks.

"Grandpa?!" He said, his eyes wide.

"AHAHAA, don't you worry, Luffy! I'm not here on official business." Garp said, with a deep guttural laugh. "I heard you had a new little companion through the grapevine. A special one at that!" Garp said, glancing around. "Is it her?!" He said, pointing at Jean. "Is she the one who stole my grandson's heart?!"

    "Ew Grandpa! That's Momma J!" Luffy said, sticking his tongue out. "Besides! How do you even know about Misaki?"

"I have my ways you little shit!" Garp said, throwing his arm around Luffy and giving him a solid bonk on the head.

"HEYYYY" Luffy growled. "THAT HURTS!"

"Deal with it!" Garp laughed. "So where is she already?! I wanna meet the special lady."

"She's getting her stuff right now! We have to go kick some ass!"

"Why's that?" Garp asked, still holding Luffy around the neck with his arm.

"This piece of shit right here has threatened our family." Momma J said, nudging Chodely with her foot.

"Is that so?" Garp said, his eyes narrowing.

     "I called them off!" Chodely retorted, sneering at the group.

     "We'll believe it when we see it." Sanji sniped as Brook took a sip of tea.

    "And you better hope they didn't do anything." Brook said softly.

    "I hope you all get fucked in the end." He snapped, his eyes narrowed.

     "What was that?" Garp said. Suddenly, he appeared in front of Chodely, picking him up by his throat. Chodely's eyes widened as he choked, gasping for air. "You are too puny and too weak to be spouting such nonsense. Why, I could take you with one pinky you little bastard." He growled, his eyes narrowing.

    "S-sorry. I— s... o... rry." Chodely choked out. Garp promptly dropped him and laughed.

     "How could your family be worried about someone like this?"

    "Grandpa." Luffy said, his voice suddenly serious. "They could be in real danger. Momma J and her family can't protect themselves like we can. They aren't from this world. Everybody is weaker over there."

    Garp looked at Luffy, pursing his lips. He sauntered over to Jean, who narrowed her eyes at him. "So this little lady is..."

    "Misaki's mother." She said shortly.

     "I can see the fire in you. I bet your daughter is just as spunky." Garp grinned at her. "So are you going back with them?"

    "They want to make sure it's safe first."

    "Then it's settled." Garp said, crossing his arms. "I'll stay here and make sure you stay safe. I'll even see if Koby is nearby."

     "Whaaat?" The crew said, jumping up.

    "I'm not too keen on a marine staying on the Sunny! Let alone a vice admiral! Even if you are Luffy's grandpa!" Franky said, crossing his arms.

   "I agree." Jimbei said, narrowing his eyes.

    "Retired! I'm a retired vice admiral."

    "Same difference!" Sanji snapped. "Don't forget the last time we saw you, you were throwing cannonballs at us!"

   "Gahahaha! It's fine! You escaped!" Garp laughed.

   "Guys, relax." Luffy said, turning to Garp. "You don't have to, Grandpa! We've got this!"
