The Plan

Jean took a breath. She thought Kramer was going to bring everybody with him, not just Appa. She wondered if he had the energy to do so, or if they were even alive. She thought about it as she watched Appa graze the grass on the deck of the Sunny. It was nice that they had Chopper. Appa almost immediately calmed down in his presence.

"How are you doing there, sweetheart?" Sanji said, sitting next to her and handing her a tea cup. She couldn't help but blush at him still.

"Well, I'm just worried, is all. I feel like it's been too long."

"Didn't you guys say the times seemed to have synced up?" Sanji said. "Maybe it's just taking a little while."

"But if he had to drop Appa here, then something must have been going wrong." She said, looking at him.

He reached out for her hand. He couldn't help but jerk it away for a moment before confidently encasing his hand over hers.

"Look. I know Mosshead and Luffy aren't always the brightest, but Misaki and Kramer are as sharp as they come. If they try to overpower them, then Zoro and Luffy got it.. and if —"

"If they try to outsmart them, then Kramer and Misaki have it."

"I'm sure at least Misaki would have a plan. Or at least come up with one." Sanji said.

"I hope so." Jean said, leaning into him a little. Her head rested on his shoulder, making him shiver. "Get your mind out of the gutter, Sanji."

"Nonsense. I'm just illuminated by your beauty is all."

"Aren't we all, partner." Franky said, patting Sanji on the head.

"What are you doing up here, Franky?" Jean said, her head popping up to look at the man as he towered over them.

"Well, you see, Misaki put me in charge of keeping an eye out if Nami and Robin weren't around." Franky said, shooting the two a thumbs up. "Since they are up at the helm with Jimbei and Garp, I figured I was needed down here."

"I think I can handle keeping J safe." Sanji sniped.

"Well, you see... I'm supposed to keep her safe from you." Franky said, making Jean laugh.

"My goodness, that girl." She said, shaking her head.

"I wasn't gonna do anything!" Sanji said, standing up quickly in jest.

"Well," Chopper said, walking over to pat Appa. "Appa doesn't believe you it seems." Appa lifted his head, nickering at Chopper, making him laugh. "In fact, he says he thinks Momma J is too comfortable with you."

"Appa!" Jean said, wagging her finger at him. "You nosy little brat."

Appa stared at Jean for a moment before huffing heavily and returning to his grass. Chopper laughed.

"What? What did he say?" She said, looking a little worried.

"He said you're acting like his girl does with with that crazy boy." Chopper said, laughing. "You must be talking about Luffy and M'."

"That is definitely who he is talking about!" Jean laughed. "Guess he pays more attention than I thought he did."

Appa snorted, lifting his head to look at Jean one last time before turning away and grazing again.

"He said 'damn straight.'" Chopper giggled.

"Alriiiiiight!" Luffy said, throwing his hands in the air as Kramer pulled my family out of his void. "Let's do thiiiiis!"
