"Wow, Misaki, I gotta say..." Chopper exclaimed, a big smile on his face. "I'm surprised to see you didn't really get hurt this time!"

"I managed to create a barrier with my wind every time I got hit!" I said, feeling a little relief at the reindeer's words. "Though that last one still hurt like a bastard."

"That's cause he used his haki." Luffy said, his arms crossed, "And he hit you really hard."

"But I'm happy to say no internal injuries or broken bones! There's even minimal bruising!" Chopper added, grinning ear to ear.

"I did inhale water though." I said, looking down. "I'm guessing that means I should be looking forward to another shot."

"Uhhh — NOPE! NO WAY!" Chopper squeaked, laughing nervously.

"It's ok, Chopper. I won't fight it today." I said.

Smack. Both a hand and a hoof smacked onto my forehead.

"Must be a fever." Luffy grumbled.

"It doesn't feel like one, but we should get a more accurate reading." Chopper said, snagging a thermometer and lifting it up to me. "Say ah!"

I laughed, taking the thermometer in my mouth. We waited for a moment before Chopper took the thermometer, squinting at it with disbelief.

"I don't have a fever, Doctor." I laughed. "I just figured I would cause less trouble today than I already have."

"You're no trouble, M'!" Luffy and Chopper said, grinning at me.

"You're either getting better at lying, or you're delusional, Lu!"

"I'm totally hopeless." Luffy grinned, completely at ease. "I'll admit it."

"Well, if that's the case, Misaki, I guess it would be nice not to have to chase you down today." Chopper said, lifting the shot out of nowhere.

"Ugh." I cringed. "Just... get it over with already."

But the moment the tip of the needle hit my arm, I jolted away. An intense whine began forming in my throat as I grabbed the edge of the bed, swinging my feet nervously.

"Do you want me to hold your hand?" Luffy asked, plopping down next to me.

"Stupid! I'm not a kid!" I snapped, snatching his hand anyways as he laughed.

"Ok, Misaki, here we go." Chopper said, pushing the needle into my arm.

"OWOWOWOWOWWWWW! Son of a bitch, go fasterrrr!" I squeaked, wind charging around the room like a toddler that had been strung out on caffeine and sugar.

Luffy's hand squished like rubber underneath my grasp, eliciting a hm? as I continued to grit my teeth. He chuckled and blew into his other thumb, pumping his hand back up and giving my hand a squeeze. If it weren't for the giant needle drilling through my arm, I probably would have laughed. But, as it was, anxiety and this burning feeling I couldn't describe was bubbling and churning just under the surface of my skin — making me feel like any moment, I might blow.

"There! All done!" Chopper said, pulling the needle away from me as I leapt onto my feet, Luffy following me as I charged out of the little clinic.

"Agghhhhh that suuuuucked." I exclaimed.

"I know... but hey... at least you did it!"

"Yeahhh, don't expect it to be so easy next time. I think I'd rather run." I laughed.
