Review- Mirror of Death

I am not reviewing the cover, but I must say it is very beautiful and it perfectly resonates with the title.

Blurb:

Blurb is to the point. It tells us what the story is about, while still managing to raise curiosity. It ends with quite a hook. Blurb is well-written.

Prologue:

Prologue lets us know how she got trapped in the mirror and about both sides of the mirror. The descriptions are good. We are able to imagine all the surroundings. However, the writing seemed a bit monotonous. It has the potential to grab more attention with the same parts used in the prologue. Overall, it was nice.

First chapter:
Great start. It shows her efforts to get back and the unmoving strength of the mirror.

I loved how everything was described. The way she saw her own room through the mirror instead of her reflection, her cleaning everything, hoping everything was a dream and finally getting out of denial and letting out her emotions. Each and everything was portrayed beautifully. Her emotions connected to the heart.

The room is going back to its previous state. This one really raised my eyebrows. I wonder how she was going to survive, if everything became as it is despite her efforts.

Book scene was really unique. Great idea. It wasn't a big deal if we compare it to other things, but it seemed to be the last straw for her. Anyone would go mad in this situation. Ending was apt.

Characterization is good as of now. We don't know much about her, but her emotions are conveyed very well. Her confusion, panic, disarray, sadness, madness; each and everything is portrayed beautifully.

World building is brilliant. The world through the mirror is shown very well.

I preferred the writing style of the first chapter rather than the prologue. It was more easy going and kept my attention throughout the chapter.

Concept is really interesting. I have read stories about people getting teleported to other world, but I never heard a story about being stuck in a room that never changes. Main concept might not be unique, but the Plot surely is. I really liked the idea of Mirror world too(referring to the book).

As there is only the first chapter, I cannot comment on the flow and pace of the story.

There weren't any grammatical errors as far as my knowledge extends.

Overall,

It was an interesting chapter. It grabbed my attention and made me want to read further. It had all the elements that would hook a reader to continue the story.
