Hide-and-seek start {3}

AN: Maybe the title is too obvious, but whatever. Hope you enjoy this part!

Narrator pov. Continuing~

As Suzuki stood up and noticed the time, she asked, "What should we do now?" 

Mouri stood up after her and only replied that it was still a bit too cold to go for a swim in the cruise's pool.

Kogoro stood up and explained that he had to change to get ready to meet Shimai, who had invited him, which surprised Mouri as he walked off happily while bidding farewell.

After deciding to leave him be, Mouri then asked the real kids what they wanted to do.

The kids, who were watching Mouri and waiting for her to find the bag with the medal in her jumper pocket, flinched back nervously in surprise before Ayumi hurriedly suggested hide-and-seek.

After some discussion between the teen girls and Edogawa almost passed on playing, before Mouri compared him to Kudo, so he changed his mind, and Haibara also agreed to play while Agasa said he had a massage appointment so he couldn't join, the real kids turned to the two girls sitting with each other.

Ayumi asked, "What about you, Irene-chan, Miyuki-oneesan?"

The two girls smiled before Irene said, "We'll play." She added, "We have nothing else to do for a while."  

The real kids cheered at that before Miyuki's phone rang, her phone having been modified to still have service in the ocean, and she checked the caller ID before saying, "Ah, gomen guys. I'll have to pass. This is an important call. You guys go ahead and play."

She stood up, and Irene tilted her head with a raised eyebrow up at her, silently asking by mouthing, "FBI?" Miyuki nodded, which made Irene nod back as she let the girl leave to take the call.

She noticed Edogawa watching and smiled at him knowingly. It was obvious he had already figured out Miyuki's job by now.

Mouri put on her jumper and declared that they should start discussing the rules.

When they were done with that, they all played rock-paper-scissors to decide who would be the seeker.

Unexpectedly, Irene lost the first round of rock-paper-scissors instead of Suzuki.

She let out an "Eh?" as she blinked down at her hand. She was sure everyone was going to pick scissors, but they picked rock.

Mouri announced, "Hai, Irene-chan's the seeker!"

Irene blinked before pointing out calmly, "Demo, I can't really find 7 people on a ship this big in under 30 minutes alone. I'm pretty short."

They all seemed to see her point, so Mouri announced, "Ja, let's make another seeker."

Mitsuhiko questioned it before Genta responded that it was fine.

So they played another round of rock-paper-scissors, and Haibara was still the second one to lose.

Irene gave her a smile, "Looking forward to working with you, Haibara-san." Haibara nodded and replied, "Me too." sounding a bit genuine, which made Irene smile wider.

Since both girls already had detective badges on them, neither asked Genta for his, and instead, Mouri announced the time limit for the seekers to find everyone.

Irene smiled a bit, looking forward to playing this game after a long time. The last time she played was with the orphanage kids as Sakura.

Suzuki then announced, "We won't lose!" And turned her head to Mouri as she started to say, "Because..."

And Ayumi interrupted to say, "We've got Conan-kun!" Edogawa sweatdropped at her confidence in him.

Irene just smiled knowingly, though she wondered where Suzuki would hide.

Genta then ran off after saying to go with the other two real kids following him happily. Mouri, Suzuki, and Edogawa ran after the kids with Mouri saying, "Ja ne!" to the girls with a wave, which Irene returned while replying, "We'll start looking in 5 minutes!"

Then both she and Haibara watched everyone else run off to hide.

And this was how the game of hide-and-seek started.

Yep, Irene takes Sonoko's place as the first seeker. Wonder what'll happen now?

And yeah, Miyuki ended up getting a call from the FBI, but don't worry, it's still her day off, I'm not going to force her to leave for work.

And now the hide and seek section has started. Looking forward to how that will be changed next time. :D
