True Happiness (rewrite version)

Operation: Cheer up Irene (Attempt 1)

AN: An original chapter. By the way, I started college if you didn't read the end of the last chapter. But anyway, hope you all enjoy it!

Narrator pov. At the Kuroba house~

Irene was getting ready to eat breakfast when she heard Kuroba seeming to be talking to someone from his room.

Well, talking to Nakamori from the window, more like, as it didn't seem he was on the phone.

She decided that it didn't involve her since they might be talking about their class or something, so she ignored it and went downstairs to wait for him.

A few minutes later, he came downstairs, so they went to the Nakamori's to eat.

After the usual greetings and everyone sitting at the table, Nakamori started the conversation, "Ne, Irene-chan?"

Irene looked up at her with her usual expression, tilting her head.

She took that as her cue to continue, "Do you remember the new amusement park in Ekoda we went to to cheer me up?"

Irene blinked and nodded, "Ekoda Uptopia." 

Nakamori nodded happily, "Yeah, that one! Well, Kaito and I are thinking of taking you back there together after breakfast. And we hopefully get to go on more rides!"

Irene blinked slowly and looked toward Kuroba, 'That explains what they were talking about...'

Kuroba just gave her a grin.

She looked back at Nakamori and nodded, "Okay." Her expression didn't change.

And so, after breakfast, Irene was pulled out by Kuroba and Nakamori, who both said bye to Ginzo.

At one point, Irene was carried by Nakamori on the way, though she didn't complain.

After a taxi ride, they arrived at Ekoda Uptopia. Kuroba snorted at the silly rhyme.

After buying tickets and entering, Nakamori immediately said, "Let's go on the bumper cars!" She smiled down at Irene, "You were excited about them, remember?"

Irene just nodded, which made Nakamori deflate a bit,

They went on the bumper cars, Irene was in one alone again, and she did bump into people pretty fast but she didn't suddenly get her colors back, even stopping to get off the game.

So they went to some other rides that the two girls rode last time, like the drop-tower rides, the swing rides, and others.

They then got to the strawberry-themed Ferris wheel and rode it.

Irene didn't react much as she sat back in the gondola and looked at the view.

Both Nakamori and Kuroba felt more discouraged but didn't give up yet.

They then went to roller coasters, specifically the Sherlock-themed one from last time.

Kuroba did get scared at some points, while others were silly, even as Nakamori clung to him, but Irene didn't give a reaction.

They went to eat lunch before trying other rides.

The two teens had fun, but Irene still had no reaction even when they went on fast rides again.

The ride they decided to end on was a carousel.

It was fun, but not really for Irene, as she still didn't react.

When the sunset could be seen, Irene just softly said, "Should we go home now?"

The two teens, dejected at this point but not wanting to show it much, nodded.

And so they went back home, deciding to think of another plan next time.

Attempt 1; Failed.

AN: Done! I hope you guys liked it!

Yep, Kaito and Aoko are now thinking up ways to cheer Irene back up and get her colors back.

Everyone loves amusement parks usually, and Irene did make it obvious she liked this one more than TP, but...

Yeah, that didn't work out.

But at least they tried. 

They aren't giving up either, so that's good.
