Narrator pov. After they got back~

After being introduced to the childhood classmates of this village and seeing their tension, everyone started returning to their rooms to go to sleep for the night.

Irene silently changed into her pajamas, but didn't let herself really go to sleep; she waited until Kogoro, the detective boys, and Agasa were all asleep before getting up and deciding to continue her sketch.

She did actually start feeling sleepy for once after a bit, but because she knew it was because Edogawa was here, for some reason, she just fought through it to continue sketching.

She didn't have to fight it long before she heard a gasp and saw Edogawa jolt awake, sitting up.

When he saw where he was, he calmed down and lay back on his futon, and she let him think to himself before speaking up softly, "Ne."

He blinked and looked over, seeing that she was sitting on the sofa sketching, and she looked back at him with her usual emotionless expression, tilting her head as she asked, "What was your nightmare about?"

"Eh?" He let out quietly in surprise, sitting back up.

She continued, "You woke up because of a nightmare. What was it about?"

He seemed to pause, so she said, "Never mind. You don't have to tell me."

He shook his head, "No, I'll tell you. It'll make me feel better, right?"

She nodded, "Yes."

He pushed the blanket off him and quietly stepped over to her, sitting on the sofa across from her.

She kept her gaze on him as he got comfortable, her sketch book on the coffee table between them, since she knew he would respect her enough not to peek at unfinished work.

He collected himself before he started, "I... I honestly don't know how to explain it properly. It was... Weird."

She tilted her head, "Explain it in general, that might help."

He nodded, "Okay... Well, it was about Ran."

She blinked, "What about her?"

He closed his eyes as if trying to bring the image he saw back into his vision, "We... We were in the agency, but then it started turning into a dark void, and Ran just... slowly disappeared, and I couldn't call out to her."

He opened his eyes again, showing concern as he looked down, "It felt like she was..." He didn't finish.

Irene took his words in and, while remembering which case happened after this, she softly replied, "That was just a nightmare. She is still here, and she won't leave anytime soon. In fact, you two will have something good happen to you after this case."

He blinked as he looked back at her, "Something good?"

She nodded, "Yes. I promise, Kudo-kun. It was just a nightmare. A really unrealistic one coming from your mind."

He seemed to get the joke at the last part as he snorted quietly, "Yeah, I don't get why there weren't that many realistic details either."

With a soft sigh at seeing him start to relax, she reached into her suitcase and took out the same Holmes book he gave her, handing it to him, "You can read it so you can go back to sleep."

Smiling, he accepted it, "Thanks, Karashima."

She nodded as he opened the book and started to read, and she went back to sketching.

A few minutes later, she heard a soft thud and saw that he dropped the book as he fell asleep on the sofa.

Relieved, she closed her sketchbook and tools and put them away, took the book from him quietly and repacked it, then moved him back to his futon by placing him on her back.

Once he was tucked in, she went over and turned off the lamp before tucking herself into her own futon, having already felt sleepy for a while, and let herself fall asleep.

AN: Done! Hope you guys liked it!

Yep, this chapter had a ship moment between these two where Conan talks about his nightmare. So cute. :3

And the way she tucked him in when he fell asleep. X3

The good thing she was talking about will actually be in the chapter right after the movie, so don't worry.

So what did you guys think? Did you like it? Which part was your favorite? Hope to see your feedback soon!

That's all. See you next chapter!

Stay sweet, my fellow anime lovers!~
