Narrator pov. Continuing~

It didn't take long before both Irene and KID saw the helicopter.

Irene then got an idea, took out her phone...

Dialing Sato's number, as she didn't have Megure's, but she knew how to make it work.

It was picked up after the first ring, "Moshi Moshi?"

"Sato-keiji, are you riding on that police helicopter to the airship?" Irene started the conversation by asking.

"Eh? Ah, yeah. But how do you see the helicopter? And how do you have your phone? I thought everyone on there got their phones taken." 

"That's because I'm not on there anymore. The bad guys threw me out the window." She paused to let what she said process.

"EH?! Out the window?! How are you alive?! Are you okay?!"

Irene responded, "KID jumped after me and saved me, so yes, I'm fine. But he left after that, so now I'm all alone in someplace called Aichi, on some bay called Mikawa."

She paused again to let Sato process it before adding, "Can you come pick me up? You're going back to HQ eventually after going after the airship, right? That way I can go back home."

She glanced at KID, who seemed to catch on.

Sato was silent for a moment, and Irene could hear her talking to Takagi away from the speaker, before she finally said, "Alright, Irene-chan. We'll be there in a minute, so stay put."

Irene nodded, "Hai. Ja ne, Sato-keiji." Then hung up.

KID looked annoyed, "Oi, how am I supposed to come back on my own?"

Irene looked up at him, "You're not. You're riding in secret."

He blinked before his eyes widened in realization, and he groaned, "You've gotta be kidding me."

She shrugged, "It's the only way no one would know we know each other or work together."

Moments later, Irene was sitting inside the helicopter next to Sato, wearing the spare headset.

While KID was hanging onto the underside of the helicopter outside, out of view, his grappling gun kept him attached to the skid bars.

His eyebrow twitched, 'That Thorny.... She's doing this on purpose....'

Sato then said, "Now, Irene-chan, stay put until we get back to HQ."

Irene just nodded.

As they pursued the airship, Irene said, "Make sure not to let the bad guys notice the heli, please, Pilot-san."

The pilot replied, "Hai," and elevated while riding over the airship.

Irene looked around and questioned, "Ne, what's the direction of the wind and the helicopter's speed? We aren't close to being pushed back, right?"

The pilot responded, "Southeast, 200 kilometers per hour, no, we aren't at risk of being pushed back at this speed."

Irene said, "Ah, okay, that should be a good speed to keep after we overtake the airship. I wanna try and see down there."

The pilot easily fell for it, "Hai."

As they overtook the airship but kept the same speed without flying away, Irene rolled down the window and looked down.

She saw KID's hand extend from under the helicopter before giving a thumbs up.

Irene looked back at Sato, taking off her headset, "Arigato, Sato-keiji. But I changed my mind. I'm going back in there."

Sato blinked, "Eh? Irene-chan, what are you-"

Irene then opened the door and dropped down just as KID also moved, catching her just as he reactivated his hang glider.

They both heard Sato exclaim, "KID?!" but didn't give it much mind.

As they rode the wind back to the top of the airship, Irene dropped from his arms in time for him to switch off his hang glider before they both hid.

"Just so you know, I'm not letting you decide how I ride somewhere with you again." KID said in annoyance.

Irene just stared at him with a tilted head, "I thought ducks like feeling the wind on their feathers."

He glared in annoyance, "Oh shut up, Thorny."

Irene shook her head, "Never mind that, you're still needed to help me take them down."

His look turned serious, "There's no need for me to stay out here, is there?"

"No." She responded, "And I have a plan that needs your gadgets to work in taking them down."

He nodded, "Alright, what's the plan?"

AN: Done! Hope you guys liked it!

Yep, Irene told Sato the truth while lying about being left alone and that she wanted the police helicopter to get her home.

Kaito riding on the underside of the helicopter was funny. XD

And now they're back on the airship and intending on working together to take the hijackers down.

We'll see how that goes next chapter.
