Preparation

AN: Original that's happening around the time Agasa's is bugged so like... between the convenience store and the Vermouth confrontation-ish. Hope you enjoy it!

Narrator pov. At Miyuki's~

Irene and Kuroba were sitting in Miyuki's living room as they were served drinks before Miyuki joined and they started to plan things. Kuroba just skimmed over the place since there was no time for a tour.

Irene asked, "So when is it right now?" Miyuki answered, "Jodie-san's announcing her retirement today." 

Irene leaned back on the couch, looking serious and thoughtful, "We're close then." 

Miyuki nodded before saying, "So, about how I said I'll watch over Ai-" Irene cut her off, "You can't because you're also included to help in the confrontation like everyone else, maybe even be there to help keep Jodie-sensei and Kudo-kun safer than before."

Miyuki sighed and nodded, "Un." 

Irene shook her head, "That's fine. I'll stay with her, that way I'll already be in Beika which will get me to get there in time to try my plan." she looked up at Kuroba, "It's going to be Halloween then and you were allowed to watch in case it goes wrong so..."

Kuroba nodded with a serious look, "Yeah, I'll be there, the doves will help me watch and I'll be ready to get there as fast as I can." 

Irene nodded back, "Alright... Try not to be Kid though, it's going to be early in the morning." Kuroba gave a thumbs up, "Don't worry, I know. I'll be careful so Kid wouldn't be involved."

Irene nodded in relief before looking back at Miyuki, "Also... Does anyone else other than Jodie-sensei know about me yet?" Miyuki answered, "James-san does. I didn't get to tell Akai-san yet though."

Irene nodded at the answer before looking at her worriedly, "You'll be okay, right? I mean, I know you're used to it now since you became an agent years ago but..." she clutched her pant legs tightly, "I don't want to lose you again." 

Miyuki smiled softly at that before reaching over and placing a hand on her shoulder, "Hey. You're not losing me. We both know what will happen in this and as long as I avoid two guns, I'll be fine, won't I?"

Irene looked up at her before nodding slowly, "Yeah, yeah you'll be fine then." she smiled. 

Miyuki nodded and smiled back, retreating her hand, "Now, what about we actually prepare your part of the plan before the FBI calls me over for theirs? I don't want to get in more trouble because of you again, like I did with Jodie-san."

Irene blinked before pouting as Kuroba snorted and she said, "Hey, you weren't the only one scolded then! Nakamori-san was so mad at me that I thought she was going to use her mop on me for once!" Kuroba started actually laughing.

Miyuki grinned a bit, "That makes us even then."

Irene rolled her eyes as she side-punched Kuroba in the stomach without looking at him to shut him up from laughing, he was sitting right next to her so even though she didn't use the gloves, that still hurt, it just wouldn't leave any bruise.

 "Itte!" he rubbed his stomach.

Irene crossed her arms, "Can we actually prepare now? We don't have time."

Miyuki nodded with a giggle and Kuroba grumbled but agreed anyway.

And so, the preparation was being done today before Miyuki had to leave and prepare with the FBI.

Yeah, this was a serious chapter, mostly, which Conan and others weren't a part of.

Irene's fear of losing Miyuki again was understandable, but they both knew how the danger was and that it could be avoided.

And of course, Kaito just had to get her annoyed enough to punch him. XD
