Narrator pov. At the Kuroba house~

Irene woke Kuroba up as it was Saturday, "Come on, Nakamori-san already made breakfast."

He groaned as he stirred, "Alright, I'm up..."

She nodded before going to the painting in his room and jumping to activate the door to the lair, going inside to feed the doves.

Once done, Kuroba was ready, so they both left for the Nakamori's next door.

They walked in as casually as usual, Irene greeting, "Ohayo," bluntly and emotionlessly like usual.

Nakamori and Ginzo were both already in the dining room, and they returned the greeting, "Ohayo!"

Irene blinked once the moment she and Kuroba arrived at the dining room, seeing what Nakamori had made for breakfast.

Not only one, but there were three breakfast dishes made, all with the main ingredients of strawberries.

She looked up at Nakamori, who gave a smile, looking excited but nervous, "Does Irene-chan like it? Aoko made it for you!"

Irene tilted her head, "Why?"

Nakamori's smile didn't fade, although it twitched slightly, and she replied, "Because Irene-chan deserves to have a breakfast made in her flavor! Strawberries are a healthy ingredient."

She opened the fridge and took out a bowl of fresh strawberries, placing them near Irene's side of the table.

The truth was, this was Nakamori's attempt to cheer Irene back into her colorful self, or at least get her to smile slightly again, like she used to before that.

Irene stared, and Nakamori only watched for a reaction.

But there was none; Irene's lips didn't even twitch from their neutral frown, she only nodded slowly before saying. "Arigato, Aoko-neechan."

Then she took her seat at the table.

Nakamori deflated a little, but she still smiled, knowing that Irene at least would like the food, and sat down before replying, "No problem."

Kuroba sat down last, and they all said, "Ittadakimasu," before eating.

Irene ate from each dish at least twice, which made Nakamori still feel proud even if it didn't get Irene to smile.

Ginzo then cleared his throat to make everyone look at him, though his gaze was on Irene.

It was his turn to try.

He took out a bag from under the table and handed it over to Irene, "I bought it last night, hope you like it."

With a tilted head, Irene accepted the bag and looked inside.

There was a new sketchbook, colored crayons, and some new sketching and drawing tools.

Ginzo had noticed from the times Irene did draw in here that her tools were getting out of date, so he got her these.

Irene blinked, and Ginzo leaned close to see the reaction.

But once again, nothing.

She only placed the bag by her and nodded at him while saying, "Arigato, Ginzo-ojisan."

He nodded back, a bit disappointed, but at least he knew she liked them, "It's no problem."

But even after breakfast, the Nakamoris didn't give up, trying for the rest of the day to at least get a laugh out of her.

Nakamori suggested going on another girls' hangout with Irene, which Irene didn't see a reason to decline, but it didn't change anything.

Ginzo went out with her for ice cream after lunch and jokingly asked who she thought was better between him and Kogoro.

He didn't expect her to look up at him with her usual emotionless look and simply say, "You."

He did feel flattered, and his ego was boosted up a bit, but it didn't change the fact that she wasn't cheered up.

When dinner came, the Nakamoris finally admitted to themselves that cheering Irene up wouldn't be that easy.

It wasn't the first time she was colorless, after all.

Besides, even if there were some motives, they did still have fun with Irene, so for now, that was enough until next time.

Even without a smile, Irene would always still be the Nakamoris' unofficial adopted daughter.

AN: Done! Hope you guys liked it!

Yep, this was about the Nakamori family trying to get Irene to smile again while colorless. Wasn't that sweet?

But yeah, obviously it's not that easy, if it was, she wouldn't have stayed colorless as long the first time.

But hey, at least they care enough to try. ^^

So what did you guys think? Did you like it? Which part was your favorite? Hope to see your feedback soon!

That's all. See you next chapter!

Stay sweet, my fellow anime lovers!~
