AN: An original chapter before a canon heist. Hope you enjoy it!

Narrator pov. The night after the heist was announced~
Irene and Kuroba were in Blue Parrot with Jii.
Irene started with, "So the jackets will work, but I would like a way that won't make it look like I'm helping you this time." In her usual tone.
Kuroba nodded, "Meitantei is suspicious, right?"
She nodded back, "I noticed it even though he didn't say anything."
He hummed, "Well, if you're okay with me using a stun gun on you-"
"You'll make him and Shiho mad at you for that." She interjected, voice as emotionless as usual, "And one of them has ways of knocking you out, two, in fact. And Shiho's glare can be something."
Kuroba shivered as he imagined being knocked out by one of Edogawa's balls or his watch, then imagined the feeling of Ai's glare based on what he's seen and heard of her.
"... On second thought, never mind." He said with a gulp.
"How about you just knock Kudo-kun out with the stun gun and go with the original plot? I have my own ways to deflect any suspicions of us working together." Irene suggested, already having an idea.
Kuroba paused, "Wouldn't that get him to kick his ball into me anyway?"
Irene shrugged, "It's less scary when he's more annoyed at you than angry when he kicks it, isn't it?"
He thought about it, "Yeah, that's true."
After that, they focused on making sure everything for the heist is in order, and nothing will go wrong during it.
When they were done, they bid Jii farewell and went back home for the night, eating dinner at the Nakamori's when it was ready, then feeding the doves, before going to sleep.
Irene didn't go to sleep immediately because of her insomnia, and spent her time awake thinking about her idea for the heist.

Yeah, it was a bit short. But it still got the point across, especially if you got the hint of which heist this is.
