Narrator pov. Continuing~

The lights started to flicker before everything turned dark for a moment, then came back on again. Kusaka was not in front of the police anymore when they turned back on.

Edogawa saw Kusaka running off and ran after him.

Irene would've joined him, but unlike the real kids and Haibara, she was pretty stuck between the crowd that Miyuki had to pick her up to keep her from getting pushed or trampled on, so she decided to let the detective boys do it without her, she'd just add more weight to the motor boat they'd ride on anyway.

After a while, a certain announcement was heard, "Attention, all guests, this is your voyage guide, Norizama. Please take your emergency life vests and move to the first-floor deck. This is not a drill. I repeat, this is not a drill!"

Miyuki and Irene looked at each other before they started toward their shared room to get their vests, the rest of the guests following out of the party room.

After putting them on and checking for anything important they could take with them, the two girls turned the lights off and left the room, meeting up with Mouri, Agasa, Suzuki and Kogoro on the way to the deck, Miyuki had to carry Irene as there was no space for her to walk between the adults' legs.

Mouri looked back at her father and asked, "Otousan, where's Conan-kun and everyone else?" Of course, she was excluding Irene as she could see she was here.

Kogoro assured that they were fine as Megure contacted him and told him that they had gone after Kusaka and had now been picked up by a nearby cruiser.

They then arrived at one of the lifeboats, and Irene sat on Miyuki's lap as they sat inside after Mouri and Suzuki got on.

They watched as Kogoro told Mouri to leave with Suzuki, Miyuki and Irene on this boat as he'd leave on a different one.

She tried to stop him, but he walked off before she could, and Miyuki was sitting on her side, which was closer to the exit, so she couldn't go after him.

As they heard a woman complain to her husband that it was hot, Irene and Miyuki saw Mouri looking like she realized something.

She and Suzuki had a small conversation where she said she dropped the medal in the place where she hid for hide and seek.

When Norizama went to announce that he was lowering the boat, Mouri went to say she was getting off while explaining that the medal was important to her, but Miyuki kept her seated and Irene got off instead.

Mouri called out, "Irene-chan!"

Irene smiled, "Don't worry, I know where Ran-neechan hid. I'll find it and then catch up on the next boat or maybe with Kogoro-Ojisan."

Miyuki and she had a long stare off, again nonverbally having a conversation, before Miyuki nodded and said, "Be careful."

Irene nodded back before running back inside.

She reached the storage space where Mouri was hiding and jumped in, after making sure the door would stay open by placing a chair under it between the door and the floor above, and used the light from outside to find the bag with the medal inside.

She opened it to check that the medal wasn't broken before placing it back inside the bag and pocketing it.

Unfortunately, the ship swayed and, despite Irene having prevented herself from being hit on the head by placing a hand against the wall the moment the force pushed her to it, the force was strong enough to break the chair holding the door open, leading to the trapdoor slamming closed above her.

Irene heard the slam of the door and froze, looking up to see that it was closed, and it was dark all over inside.

Suddenly, her fear of not seeing Miyuki again rose back up, and she immediately climbed the metal ladder back up, slamming her hands up on the door to try and open it from the inside, but it was still locked.

Another sway of the ship made her slip off the ladder and back down to the ground, landing on her back harshly since she was facing up.

She sat up and looked up at the door in despair.

This felt like a wider and less cold version of the box she was trapped in earlier today, especially with how both open upwards.

She started to hyperventilate, hugging herself as she felt her throat seize and dry up just like then. 'No no no no no no... Please...'

She started to shake the same way she did in the box from the cold, though this time, it was because of internal panic and fear.

She had no idea if Edogawa would even notice she wasn't with the others like he did with Mouri.

She had no idea if there was a chance for her to actually get rescued by Miyuki this time too, either.

She started to have a panic attack as the walls started to feel too close instead of far, and the darkness wasn't helping.

She was trapped, alone.

AN: Done! Hope you guys liked it!

Yep, another cliffhanger, this one is even more intense since Irene is in danger at the end.

And she's right, in the movie, Conan had to ask where Ran is because he had a feeling something was wrong, and that was when Sonoko spoke up to say she wasn't there.

There's no guarantee that Conan will do the same thing this time too, so she might be screwed.

Well, you'll have to wait until the next chapter to find out what happens. And I don't know if I'll get time to write that chapter tomorrow, so you might have to wait until after tomorrow. :D
