Narrator pov. Continuing in the storage area~

Irene's panic attack was getting worse, and the pain in her back from the earlier fall was not helping.

She hugged herself, starting to shake more and breathe more heavily, 'Mom... Dad... Please... I'm scared...'

She shook more.

Until she heard a familiar voice transmitted from her pocket, "Midorikawa, can you hear me?! It's me, Edogawa!"

She mumbled softly in confusion, "Kudo-kun...?"

And she realized a second later, 'Wait... My badge...!'

She immediately dug it out with shaking hands. She forgot to turn the transmitter off since the hide-and-seek incident this morning.

She could hear stomping and running, and Edogawa still talking from his end of the badge, "Midorikawa, if you can hear me, say something!"

She took a moment, still taking shallow breaths, but held the badge up to her mouth just like in the cold box earlier and said shakily, "E... Edogawa-kun...?" Thankfully, her voice is a bit clearer than back then, since it wasn't cold in here.

She could hear him sigh a bit in relief and talking to someone behind him, it took a bit of a second to go through her memory to realize it was Kogoro which explained the name he chose to call her with, before she could hear him say to her, "Yeah it's me, are you okay?"

She went to try and stand up despite the pain in her back, but the ship shook again, and this time she slid and fell back onto her back again, which of course hurt it more, "Itte-"

She sat back against the wall, realizing that she wouldn't be able to move on her own, and decided to explain, "Yeah... But I hurt my back when I fell from the ladder when I tried to get back out..."

She could hear him cursing, and the side of her that grew up in the orphanage made her mumble in reflex, "Language..." though she also felt amused, especially as she could hear him scoff.

"I say knowing you're hurt is enough of a reason to not mind my language here!" he retorted, though they both could tell he wasn't annoyed in the slightest, if anything, he sounded as amused as her.

She smiled a bit, her mood feeling a bit better just by talking to him. As her panic subsided a bit but not completely, she could hear Kogoro shouting at Edogawa to know where she was, and Edogawa then asked, "Right, not the time. Where are you?"
