Narrator pov. Continuing in the infirmary~

Irene was wrapped in a warm blanket and given a warm water bottle when she was still on the verge of going back to sleep while being taken to the infirmary, being carried by Miyuki as well.

An hour later, she woke up on the infirmary bed and was almost given a cup of hot cocoa, but Miyuki got to change it to tea, so Irene drank it while still wrapped in a blanket.

She sighed in relief as she felt herself feel alive again, though tired and still slightly numb, leaning against Miyuki's side as she sat next to her on the bed.

Kogoro and Agasa were called during the trip to the infirmary, so they were also here.

The doctor, Mizukubo Jin, smiled and said, "There's no need to worry. She's out of the danger zone. Once she warms her body and relaxes, she'll be able to move soon.

Miyuki sighed in relief and replied, "Thank you so much, Sensei." She looked down at Irene, who kept leaning against her and only gave a small smile.

It was obvious that the earlier scare of dying and not seeing Miyuki again made her a little clingy, though Miyuki didn't mind, wrapping an arm around Irene and keeping her close as she continued drinking her tea.

Edogawa narrowed his eyes in anger and thought, 'But then...' 

The employee who helped find her earlier, Misaki Noaya, asked, "Who would pull such a prank like this?"

Everyone except Irene looked at him as Kogoro replied, "A prank? No, this is not a prank. It's an official murder attempt. Please call the police immediately."

Misaki ran out to do just that as he replied, "Yes, sir!"

Kogoro then turned to Irene and approached the bed with a serious look, letting Miyuki stay sitting next to her as it seemed to calm her, and said, "Tell me the whole story. Where were you attacked?"

Irene looked up at him and answered, "Marine Bay. I found Sonoko-neechan there, and she dropped her phone, so while she left, I stayed behind and picked it up, then I heard someone come up behind me before I was knocked out by a hit to the head."

Suzuki looked extremely guilty at that, especially as Irene sat up to take out said phone and handed it out with a smile, "Here, Sonoko-neechan."

With a guilty gulp, she took the phone back and replied, "A-Arigato..."

Irene smiled back and nodded before leaning back against Miyuki's side.

Edogawa then asked, "Did you see the face of the attacker?"

At this, Irene shifted her position against Miyuki's side so she could lift her head to look up at Miyuki, both girls having a nonverbal conversation through their eyes.

Only a second after, Irene looked back down at him and shook her head, "It came from behind me, and I was trying to run so I didn't look."

Edogawa's eyes narrowed, knowing the signs by now, 'So this is what's supposed to happen on this cruise, huh...'

Kogoro then asked, "Do you remember the time?"

Irene turned her gaze to him and nodded, "10:11 am."

After that, Irene reassured the real kids that she'd be fine, and Miyuki added that she'd stay to look after her so everyone else could leave, and warned them to be careful of the murderer roaming around.

Though both girls knew that the warning was unnecessary.

As everyone left, the doctor said, "I'll leave you two to recover." He smiled, "You're a strong girl, Irene-chan. I wish you a swift and fast recovery."

Irene blushed a bit at the compliment and smiled shyly before nodding, "H-Hai, Arigato, Sensei." As he stood up, he told Miyuki to use the call button if anything new happened, then left.

Now that they were alone, Irene leaned completely against Miyuki's side again, her cup of tea empty as she placed it down.

Miyuki wrapped both arms around her to keep her against her side, and Irene closed her eyes as she relaxed and said, "Miyu-chan? You won't leave me again, right?"

Miyuki looked down to see Irene looking back up at her, her hands now clutching Miyuki's side and the blanket around her.

Miyuki smiled and replied, "Of course not, Sakura-chan. I have fewer chances to die now that I'm part of the main characters and the FBI, so I'm pretty sure I'll be fine. Plus, I'm more cautious when riding on planes." 

She placed her hand on Irene's head and added, "I promise, I won't leave you this time."

Irene smiled before nuzzling her head against Miyuki's side and relaxing completely as she was held against her.

After the coldness and tightness of the box.

Irene finally felt warm again. And she was sure she'd feel it forever now.

AN: Done! Hope you guys liked it!

Yep, Irene is a bit clingy to Miyuki now. Don't worry, it'll only last until the end of the movie since she knows Miyuki will need to go back to work after.

Well, this was a wholesome chapter, mostly.

By the way, did anyone get the double-meaning of the part "After the coldness and tightness of the box"?

If you didn't, the other meaning is basically how she felt cold while colorless and alone, trapped in her emotionless state, and feeling numb.

But now that Miyuki is back and staying, she feels completely warm.

Of course, she felt warm around Conan, too, but true love can't replace an old special friend. A new spark can't be as good as the old one.
