Narrator pov. At Agasa's house, watching the conference~
Slices of cake and cups of tea were served to each member of the Detective Boys as they watched the police conference on TV.
Edogawa was the only one standing, while Irene sat between Ayumi and Ai, eating her cake politely while listening to the TV, expression as emotionless as usual.
Genta was the other one also eating his cake, albeit doing it more quickly because it was Genta, and when the conference ended, and Agasa turned the TV off, Genta complained, "What? That's it?" then crossed his arms.
Mitsuhiko agreed by saying, "They didn't even mention a thing about us, Detective Boys-"
Irene cut him off with the usual tone, "They won't mention other names unless they actively helped in the incident, Mitsuhiko-kun. Otherwise, any bystander who was around a criminal take-down can claim to have helped."
She looked straight at the 3 of them, the usual expression on her face, "So you shouldn't complain. Besides, I'd rather keep my privacy."
The real kids sheepishly laughed before Genta changed the subject while picking up his handheld console, "Alright, let's play a game! Let's play!" standing up and stepping away.
Mitsuhiko happily picked his handheld up with Ayumi doing the same as he said, "Good idea!" and they followed Genta to the other side of the room to play.
Irene watched them go, then picked up her teacup and sipped from it as Agasa and Edogawa started their conversation.
She had finished her tea when Edogawa said, "All in spite of the fact that there were villagers who opposed the proposal all the way to the end."
Agasa palmed his fist, "I see! If we assume a grudge over the construction of the dam was the culprit's true motive..."
Ai finally spoke up, "Then our culprit may be one of the villagers or someone related to them."
Edogawa uncrossed his arms and replied, "I was only stating one possibility, though." He turned his gaze to Irene, "Well?"
She chose her answer, tone as emotionless as usual, "The dam is the biggest reason, yes."
Understanding she couldn't say much else, he nodded gratefully before turning to the other two and explaining about the festival the village was having next Sunday, and how the governor had planned to go before canceling.
Agasa said, "I get it! You want to visit that village and investigate the matter?" Edogawa confirmed and asked if Agasa could take him.
That was when the real kids revealed themselves from behind Agasa, demanding to come too. Ai then added that she was coming if Agasa was coming to watch his diet, making the inventor laugh sheepishly.
Irene then added, "I'll come too. My cousin wouldn't mind."
Edogawa nodded at her, not seeming to mind, and the real kids looked happy that she was coming.
Irene texted Kuroba about it while mentally thinking of what she knew she'd try to change when there.
AN: Done! Hope you guys liked it!
Yep, Irene calls the kids out when they complain about not being mentioned when they didn't do anything. I love them, but I see why some people call them annoying in those kinds of moments.
This is just the first part, so, like usual, nothing much happens yet.
The next part will start when they're in the village, so it will have more action.
