Narrator pov. At the Kuroba house~

Irene had come home once again feeling down. "Tadaima..."

After the many reminders of the woman who was currently targeting her, either intentional or not, Irene couldn't stop thinking about it.

Again.

She wanted to talk to Miyuki, but she was still busy with Kir.

She had looked over her shoulder on her way back from school to the train station, and even on the train ride back to Ekoda.

Kuroba, who was in the living room, had noticed this, "Okaeri. Still feeling paranoid?"

Irene sighed, "I can't help it. And you know why, you warned me... I should've listened."

Kuroba hummed, which made her look at him in confusion.

She had expected him to scold her now that she was admitting that he was right.

When dinner was announced ready by Nakamori, Irene followed Kuroba out the door, putting on her own Poker Face.

She had been getting better at faking a smile, according to Kuroba. And he seemed to be right as the Nakamoris didn't suspect anything.

So dinner went at a steady pace, Nakamori asking how school was today and how Miyuki had been, both questions Irene answered honestly.

And it was after dinner, when they were both back in the Kuroba house, that Kuroba asked something unexpected, "Hey, how about I show you the night city from the sky?"

Irene looked up at him in surprise, obviously understanding what he meant, "R... Really? But what if we get spotted?"

Kuroba scoffed, grinning mischievously, "Spotted? Did you forget who you're talking to? KID doesn't get spotted unless he wants to. And I know how to avoid guns, so don't worry about that either."

Irene blinked, realizing he was right, and took a moment to think.

'A ride on the hang glider... That... That sounds nice... Miyuki will probably get jealous, though.' That last thought amused her.

She looked back up at Kuroba and nodded, "Okay."

So after going to the lair for him to get dressed, they were both on the closest high roof, Irene now being strapped to his chest.

She had to admit, she felt a bit excited.

Once strapped in, Kuroba, or KID, tested the wind before saying, "Hang on!" he then ran before jumping off the roof and activating the hang glider.

Once in the air, Irene's eyes widened in amazement.

The city looked beautiful at night from this high up, especially with the feeling of the wind against her face, "Whoa..."

Kuroba smiled before getting an idea and starting to spin fast in the air with her still strapped to him.

Instead of freaking out, Irene couldn't help but laugh, the speed being perfect for her.

He stopped and continued flying, making sure to avoid spots where people could see them by staying up in the sky.

Irene smiled. Ekoda did look pretty from up there, especially with the bit of trees around.

Kuroba noticed the smile and smirked before doing a flip in the air.

Irene giggled, "How long has it taken you to learn to do that?"

He shrugged, "Don't remember. Probably wasn't that long with how tricks are easy for me to learn."

Irene smirked, "Or too long that you don't remember anymore."

His eyebrow twitched, "Thorny..."

Irene looked back down, "So this is what ducks like you get to see in the sky. Pretty cool."

She softened her expression, starting to feel tired, "But really... Arigato, Duckie. I feel better now."

He started turning the glider back around as he replied, "No problem. And don't worry, even if Miyuki-san can't protect you in Ekoda, you have me, and I'm already careful of shady organizations enough."

She nodded, "Okay... Thanks."

And then they went back home before changing and going to sleep in their rooms.

Of course, Irene didn't sleep immediately, but she kept thinking of that ride she just had, smiling to herself before picking her flute up and going to the lair to play for the doves for a bit.

AN: Done! Hope you guys liked it!

Yep, Irene started feeling paranoid again after all the reminders. Who can blame her, right?

Good thing Kaito has come up with a good way to cheer her up without Miyuki's help.

Don't worry, guys, you can feel jealous that Irene got to ride on the hang glider. It's understandable. :'3

Kaito's promise to help protect her in Ekoda is so sweet. X3

So what did you guys think? Did you like it? Which part was your favorite? Hope to see your feedback soon!

That's all. See you next chapter!

Stay sweet, my fellow anime lovers!~
