Narrator pov. Continuing~

Irene sneaked out behind Mouri before the real kids ran out and waited until the phone call between her and Kudo was over before coming down the stairs and burying the words written on the snow under more snow, which she kicked.

Mouri noticed her, and Irene tilted her head at her and asked, "Who were you talking to, Ran-neechan?" in her usual emotionless tone.

Mouri blushed and responded, "Ah, no one important."

Irene stared up at her and turned her head to the illuminated trees before bluntly saying, "Shinichi-niichan might take offense if he heard you call him that."

Mouri blinked in surprise before crossing her arms and frowning, "Well, he's not here. And it's true. That Deduction Otaku isn't that important to me."

She then added, "Ja, I'm going back inside. Don't stay out too long in the snow, Irene-chan."

Irene nodded and watched as the teen walked back inside.

'Not that important... Come to think of it, doesn't she badmouth him like that a lot?' she thought, stepping up the stairs again, 'Even though she loves him...?'

She shrugged, reaching over for the door handle, 'Oh well, they are childhood friends, so how can I judge?' She opened the door and stepped inside.

A while later, her detective badge beeped, and she went to where Edogawa and Ai were as they all got the call from Genta.

They rode on Edogawa's snowboard until they found the real kids.

When Ayumi commented about how Ai and Irene also came, Irene let Ai speak for them both.

After Edogawa saw the snowmobile and concluded that they'll need to call Agasa to come pick them up, Genta immediately objected, and then Mitsuhiko blamed him for this as the two boys started arguing.

Before this could escalate, Edogawa stopped them, "That's enough!"

Everyone looked at him as he continued, "Both of you. Don't say anything more. Once those words leave your mouth, you'll never be able to take them back."

Irene noticed him glancing at her as he went on, "Words are like swords. If you use them the wrong way, they'll turn into ugly weapons."

A flashback of the Seiji incident flashed in both their heads at that moment, and Irene noticed him tightening his fists as he turned his gaze back to the boys, "There are cases of broken friendships that could have lasted a lifetime if not for unforgivable verbal abuse."

Irene placed a hand on his shoulder, and he seemed to relax once he felt it. He smiled as he continued, "Once you sever your ties, you might not see each other again."

Irene closed her eyes, adding her own input, "Friends can forgive each other, sure, but words can go too far once they are said with the intent to hurt; at that time, it's a weapon that kills the friendship off."

She squeezed Edogawa's shoulder, "Unless it's valued enough to be saved."

At the sound of a car passing by, she let go of his shoulder as they all waved the car over, and after explaining the situation to the driver, Motou, he let them get in as he drove them back to the lodge while Edogawa called Mouri to explain what happened.

Irene sat next to Ai, who quietly said, "Sorry."

Irene tilted her head at her, so she clarified, "For what I said during the time Edogawa-kun had amnesia."

Irene blinked, "Ah."

"I never properly apologized, so I wanted to say it now," Ai added.

Irene nodded and responded, "It's fine. I already forgave you, Ai-chan."

Ai nodded back before looking out the window for the rest of the drive back.

Some words are unforgivable, but to Irene...

Any insults or blame from her friends are forgivable.

AN: Done! Hope you guys liked it!

Yeah, I don't remember writing Ai ever apologizing for what she said during the AmneConan arc, so Irene's and Conan's words made her decide to do it.

Irene obviously forgave her a long time ago, though, but the apology was still sweet.

So what did you guys think? Did you like it? Which part was your favorite? Hope to see your feedback soon!

That's all. See you next chapter!

Stay sweet, my fellow anime lovers!~
