Monster (Peter Parker)

Requested by ancky_monkey: Y/N and Peter are together. Y/N's relationship before Peter was abusive but he doesn't know that. One day, he comes home pissed off and annoyed from a patrol. Since he's tired, he ends up starting a fight and makes Y/N flinch. She tries to explain that it's not his fault but he's too upset thinking that her flinching is his fault. They go for a while without talking but then bump into each other at school again. Y/N explains everything to Peter, including why she flinched at him yelling.

I lay on Peter's bed in his dorm room, my eyes glued to the book that I was reading as I waited for him to get back from his patrol. Peter and I had met a year ago when we'd both started studying computer science at CalTech, and had hit it off immediately. I hadn't been looking for another relationship at the time given that I'd broken up with my extremely abusive high-school boyfriend in order to move to university, and so I was still healing mentally from those wounds. But there was just something about Peter that had made me feel safe with him. He'd been nothing but nice to me from the moment that we'd met, his smile widening every time that he saw me. He'd made me feel so loved and cared for that when he asked me out only a week after we'd met, I had little hesitation in saying yes. Then it had become clear three months into the relationship why he was such an amazing guy when I'd seen the Spider-Man suit. Of course that suit came with fear for myself and for him, but he was helping people every day, and that's what mattered. Though it had been a year and Peter still didn't know about my abusive ex-boyfriend. Being in that relationship wasn't something that I was proud of, and it didn't affect my relationship with Peter, and so I figured that he didn't need to know. I looked up as I heard a tap on the window, my lips curling into a smile as Peter crouched on the outside of the glass with his full suit on. I put the book down and stood from his bed before heading to the window and opening it for him.

"Thanks, angel." he mumbled as he jumped into the room and pulled his mask off, my knees going slightly weak at the sight of my boyfriend's messy hair. I'd always loved his messy hair.

"How was your patrol?" I asked as I leant in and pecked his lips. My eyebrows furrowed as he didn't return the kiss, making me look at him as I pulled away.

"It was shit. There were no cops about at any of the scenes, so I had to deal with all of it myself, and on the one scene that they showed up to, they were absolutely no fucking help. I'm just fucking tired." he scoffed and shook his head.

"I'm sorry, babe. How about we just lay down and watch a movie or something?" I shrugged as I curled my arms around his waist.

"Y/N, read the fucking room, I don't want to watch a movie, I want to sleep." he spat, making my eyes widen as he moved my arms from around him before sitting down on the bed.

"That's fine, Peter, but you don't have to be a dick about it." I shook my head. He looked up at me.

"What did you just call me?" he scoffed as he stood back up.

"I called you a dick, because that's what you're being." I nodded.

"Fuck you, Y/N. I've just had the patrol from hell, I'm tired and pissed off, I don't need my girlfriend calling me names when I get back." he snapped. I bit my lip, tears pricking my eyes as his voice started to get louder. This was all too familiar territory, and I didn't fucking like it.
