Amy's pov:
I was just packing my things to get back home from work. I've been longing to this moment all day cause I'm just having a shit day. I woke up with a headache which only got worse through the day, had an heated argument with one of my colleagues, had to stay an hour and a half longer at work because someone else called in ill and on top of that all, when I just grabbed my bag I dropped my phone and the screen is shattered into a million pieces.
"Fucking hell!" I shouted in frustration before picking it up and stuffing it in the pocket of my coat. Sighing to myself I took my car keys out of my bag and made my way to my car. I quickly started the engine and started my journey back home. But unfortunately I had to wait for every damn traffic light when the only thing I want right now is have a shower to wash this disinfectant hospital scent off.
Finally after what felt like hours I arrived at our house and let myself in. I kicked my shoes off and threw my bag on the floor before walking upstairs, without saying anything to Dan. I took a fresh pair of knickers my sweatpants and a t-shirt before I walked into the bathroom, locking the door behind me. I quickly took my clothes off and stepped in the shower, but as soon as the water hit my back I realized that it was stone cold so I shrieked in shock before quickly turning it warmer.
I was just washing my hair when I heard footsteps coming up the stairs and seconds later I heard Dan trying to open the door, but I had locked it. I don't know why I locked it now, I never lock the door...
"Amy?" I heard Dan call from the other side of the door.
"Yeah." I replied, rinsing the shampoo out of my hair.
"Are you okay?" He asked, a few seconds later.
"Yeah. I'll be down in a few minutes." I replied, hoping he'd just leave me alone for a few minutes.
"Okay." He said, getting the message and heard him walk away again.
I know it's not fair to treat Danny like this, he did nothing wrong. I'm just in a bad mood. After standing in the shower for a little longer I finally decided to get out. I turned the shower off and wrapped a towel around my wet hair and got another to dry my body with. When I had dried myself I quickly put the clothes on I had taken with me and walked downstairs.
"Hey." Dan said flashing me a small smile when I walked into the living room.
"Hey." I replied. Smiling back at him, I decided I wasn't going to treat him like shit just because I had a bad day.
"I made us dinner." He said, and just when he finished his sentence I heard the oven beep.
"Thanks babe." I replied standing up to sit at the table while Dan got the food.
"Am, what's up?" Dan asked carefully after a few minutes of silence.
"Just had a bad day at work. And I'm sorry for treating you like that a few minutes ago." I said looking up from my food.
"It's okay." He said flashing me a smile and grabbed my hand that was lying on the table.
"Wanna talk about what happened at work?" He asked, giving my hand a light squeeze.
"I had an argument with a colleague, needed to work an hour and a half longer, broke the screen of my phone in a million pieces and had a fucking headache through the whole day." I said, quickly summing everything up.
"Want some painkillers?" He asked
"No, the shower helped a little bit already." I said shrugging and continued eating. When we finished Dan told me to lay down on the couch for a while, while he put everything in the dishwasher. At first I said I'd do that, cause he made dinner already. But he wasn't having any of it. I gave in and walked to the living room, lying down on the couch. A few minutes later Dan came over with a few painkillers and a glass of water.
