~Chapter 181~

*8 years later*

Danny's pov:

Am and I were just clearing away the last things of Ava's 13th birthday party. It was 1AM and finally everyone had gone home and the kids were in bed. 

I placed the last few glasses in the dishwasher while Am wiped down the worktop in the kitchen.

"Ready?" She asked when I closed the dishwasher.

"Yup." I answered and took her hand, leading her up the stairs.

After checking on the kids and getting ready for bed I crawled in next to Am who had already settled into bed. I cuddled close to her and wrapped my arms around her, pulling her tightly against my chest.

"Looking forward to tomorrow?" I asked her. 

Am's going to the States for work tomorrow and will leave me with the kids for 8 days.

"Yeah, it'll be fun. But I'll miss you and the kids." She answered as she looked up at me.

"You'll be gone for only 8 days babe, it's nothing we're not used to." I said and kissed the top of her head.

"Fair point." She said before leaning up to peck my lips.

"Good night." She said when she pulled away.

"Good night." I answered and kissed her forehead before settling down to fall asleep.

When I woke up again I could still feel Am next to me, indicating that it was still really early as her alarm was set at 5AM. I turned on my side to admire my wife only to find her lying on her side looking at me. 

"Morning." She said with a small smile when she noticed I was awake.

"Hmm morning." I mumbled, pulling her closer to me. She willingly came closer and pressed her lips against mine, kissing me. I smiled against her lips before kissing her back, passion taking over quickly. My hands found their way underneath her t-shirt and I swiftly peeled it off her body, dropping it onto the floor next to the bed.

It was only a matter of moments before we were making love to each other. My arms wrapped around her while one of her hands gripped my upper arm and the other was pressed against my back.

"I love you." I whispered as my lips brushed against hers.

"I love you too." She breathed as I pressed kisses down her neck. 

Her legs were wrapped around my waist and she was arching her back while digging her nails into my skin, indicating that she was close. I thrusted a few more times until Am climaxed, closely followed by me. 

I collapsed next to her, trying to catch my breath while Am's head rested on my chest. 

We were only just finished when Am's alarm went off, making me chuckle.

"Ugh, I should get up." She whined before reluctantly lifting herself away from me.

I lay in bed coming down from my high while I heard Am tiptoeing around the house, getting ready to leave.

I heard the wheels of her suitcase rolling downstairs so I got out of bed and pulled on my bathrobe before going down to say goodbye.

"Are you ready?" I asked as I reached the bottom of the stairs.

"I think so." She said while pulling her coat on.

"Have fun babe." I said before hugging her.

"You too. Take good care of the kids." She answered as she looked up at me.
