Amy's pov:

When we arrived back home after our walk with Lola, I released her from  her lead and she immediately ran off to the living room. I took my shoes off and hung my coat off before I walked to the kitchen to make us a cup of tea, Dan following silently behind me.

"I think I'm going to lay down for a while, my head's killing me." He said after a few moments of comfortable silence. I looked up and him and saw that he was indeed pretty pale.

"Just shout if you need something." I replied kissing his cheek softly before he disappeared upstairs. I sat down on the couch and turned the tv on, while Lola came barking at my feet. I reached down and picked her up, placing her on my lap, stroking her. After a few minutes I realized that I had taken the bedsheets off our bed this morning, so I quickly stood up and walked upstairs to help Danny get the fresh bedsheets on our bed. But when I walked into our bedroom I saw that it was empty, the duvet still lying on the floor where I left it this morning and no sign of Danny. Confused of where he had gone to, I turned back around and walked out of the bedroom. But when I walked past the spare room I noticed that the door was closed and there was no light coming from underneath the door. I silently opened the door and found Danny lying in bed, this clothes abandoned on the floor next to his bed while he had the duvet pulled up as high as possible. Next to him was lying the elephant he had bought for our baby, and had left here until our baby's born.

I walked into the room to close the curtains completely since he had only half closed them. After that I walked over to him and kissed him softly on his forehead before I silently walked out of the spare room again and closed the door behind me. Once I came downstairs again I found Lola sitting in front of the window looking at the birds outside. I grabbed my phone from the couch and took a picture of her because she looked so cute. After that I realized I still had to go shopping otherwise we wouldn't have anything to eat tonight. I left a note on the table in case Dan would wake up in the time that I'd be gone and put my shoes and coat back on.

I was walking through the aisles filled with food thinking of what we should eat tonight. After a while I just decided on soup seeing as Dan isn't feeling well, so I don't think he's up for food either. I bought everything I thought I might need before I made my way back home. Once I arrived back home I placed the bags on the kitchen counter and started to put everything away. It didn't seem like Dan had been downstairs, so after I had placed everything away I decided to go and check on him.

I opened the door to the spare room and found him still asleep, he only had turned on his other side. Somehow, in his sleep, he managed to get the duvet on the floor so I walked up to him and picked the duvet up from the floor to cover him again. When I pulled the duvet over him I noticed the goosebumps on his skin so I think the duvet has been on the floor for a while already. I wrapped it tightly around him, hoping he'd warm up soon before I left the room again. But before I could close the door behind me I heard Dan calling,

"Am?" His voice sounding hoarse.

"I'm here." I said softly, walking back to him.

"How are you feeling?" I asked, stroking his messy hair slightly.

"Not too great, I-" He started but didn't get to finish his sentence when he was interrupted by himself throwing up, on the bed, the floor and my left foot.

"I'm sorry..." He said, his hand covering his face.

"It's okay, don't worry." I replied before I stood up so I could put the bedsheets on our own bed so he could lay there and I could wash the bedsheets he had just emptied his stomach over.

A few minutes later I was finished so I walked back to Dan, who was lying on the other side of the bed now, which was still clean.

"Let's get you to our own bed." I said softly, pulling the duvet off his body. He slowly sat up, his eyes half closed and waited a few seconds before he stood up on his shaky legs. I wrapped my arm around his naked waist and guided him to our bedroom. I threw the covers back so he could lay down before I tucked him in like a child.

"Better?" I asked once he lay comfortably again. He nodded in reply, his eyes closed again, so I closed the curtains for him and went back to the spare room, to clean the mess. I tore the bedsheets from the bed and put them in the washing machine before I went to clean the floor. Once everything was cleaned up I decided to place a bucket on the side of his bed in case he'd throw up again. When I walked into our bedroom with a bucket I saw that Dan was still awake, lying on his back staring up at the ceiling.

"Can I get you anything else?" I asked when I placed the bucket on the floor next to the bed.

"No..." Came his hoarse reply. I sat down on the edge of the bed and started stroking through his hair, hoping it'd lull him back to sleep. After a few seconds I noticed that goosebumps were still covering his arms which were lying on top of the duvet so I started to rub my hands up and down his arms hoping it would warm him up a little bit.

After ten minutes he still felt cold so I stood up and walked to the bathroom, filling the bath. After that I went downstairs and made him a cup of tea for him as well. I took it to the bathroom where I put it down before I went back to the bedroom to get Dan.

"I made you a nice warm bath." I told him, reaching out for his hand to help  him up. He smiled softly at me before he dragged himself out of bed. He shivered once the cool air hit his naked body so I quickly took him to the bathroom. I helped him out of his boxers before he stepped into the warm water.

"Hmm that's nice." He whispered when he lay down, his head resting against the edge of the bath. I handed him the mug and he wrapped his hands around it, bringing it to his mouth. I ran my hand trough his sweaty hair before I kissed his cheek softly and left the bathroom.

I sat down on the couch downstairs and flicked through the tv channels trying to find something to watch. But after a while I gave up so I turned the tv off and took my book from the coffee table.

45 minutes later I went back to the bathroom to see how Dan was doing. Just when I opened the door I found Dan climbing out of the bath.

"The water was getting cold." He whispered hoarsely when he saw me coming in. I took a big fluffy towel and handed it to him before I took the plug out of the bath.

"You want to go back to bed?" I asked him.

"No. I want to be downstairs with you." He replied. I nodded and went to the bedroom to get him some clothes while he was drying himself. I took a pair of fresh boxers, sweatpants and a sweater for him to keep him warm. Once he was dressed he went back downstairs with me where we went to the kitchen to swallow some painkillers while I got him a blanket to cover him with on the couch. Once Dan came back from the kitchen he lay down on the couch and I covered him with the blanket. After that I sat down next to him, he shuffled a little bit and rested his head in my lap. I picked my book up again and continued reading, holding my book with one hand while the other hand was running through his hair, lulling him back to sleep.
