~Chapter 187~

Danny's pov:

I'd spent the day with the lads in the studio and was just packing up my things to go home. As I looked at the time on my phone and saw that it was already 10PM I realized it had gotten a little later than planned. I quickly send Am a text telling her that I was coming home now before saying goodbye to the lads. 

Twenty minutes later I paid the driver and got out of the cab. I fumbled in the pocket of my coat trying to find my keys and let myself in, quietly closing the door behind me so I wouldn't wake the kids. After taking off my coat and shoes I walked into the living room where Am was sitting on the couch watching the tv.

"Hey." I said and leaned down to kiss her lips.

"Hey." She said smiling when I pulled away.

"You want another one?" I asked as I picked up her empty mug from the coffee table. 

"Sure, thanks." She answered while I walked off to the kitchen to make us both a cup of tea. 

"I got you a little present." She said as she followed me into the kitchen and placed her hands on my hips and looked up at me with a mischievous smile playing on her kissable lips.

"You do?" I asked curiously.

"I do." She said and walked over to the table before coming back with a small box in her hands.

"What's the occasion?" I asked as I took the box from her.

"Do I need one?" She asked before encouraging me to open the box. 

I opened the light rectangular box while Am was watching me closely. I pulled out a pregnancy test and it look me a second to realize the little screen displayed two lines.

"You're pregnant?" I asked smiling as the penny dropped. She nodded her head and bit her lip while smiling as well. 

"How long?" I asked looking down at the test once again.

"Around three weeks. My period didn't come and once I started to feel nauseous I took a test." She explained.

"I'm so happy." I said smiling and pulled her in for a tight hug.

"Me too." She said while resting her head against my chest.

"This will be the last one, though." She said while remaining in our embrace.

"That's what you said after Liz as well. And Jamie." I answered chuckling.

"Dan, seriously. Last one." She said pulling away to look me in the eye.

"We'll see." I said winking and leaned down to kiss her head before pulling away to make our tea. 

Amy's pov:

We spent a little longer on the couch with Dan drawing patterns on my stomach and fantasizing about our unborn baby until we decided to get ready for bed.

I woke up the next day from Dan untangling himself from my limbs that I'd wrapped around him during the night.

"I'm going to get breakfast ready for the kids." He whispered before kissing me and getting out of bed. I remained in bed for another 15 minutes to wake up properly while I heard the kids getting downstairs to have breakfast before getting ready for school.

Once I got up I pulled on my bathrobe before going downstairs as well.

"I just made coffee." Dan said smiling as he saw me coming in and placed my cup on the table. I sat down at the table and picked up my cup, taking a sip. But as soon as I swallowed nausea hit me and I quickly jumped up from my chair and ran to the toilet where I threw up. Dan was hot on my heels and held my hair back as I threw up while his hand was rubbing my back.

"Mum? Are you OK?" A worried looking Ava asked once I was done throwing up.

"I'm fine honey, don't worry." I said trying to reassure her as I wiped my mouth with some toilet paper.

"I guess you told me just in time you're preggers." Dan said giggling once Ava had gone back to eat breakfast. I rolled my eyes at him before getting back on my feet, closely followed by Dan.

After breakfast I quickly got ready and dropped the kids off at school before making my way to work.

It was a little after 6PM when I arrived back home and let myself in. I heard music coming from the kitchen but other than that it was fairly quiet. I walked into the kitchen and found Dan preparing dinner.

"Hey babe." Dan said as soon as I walked in.

"Hey. Where are the kids?" I asked confused.

"Ava's staying with Emma and Liz and Jamie with Glen and Rachel. So we have the night for ourselves." He said smiling.

"And I'm going to spoil you." He added as he walked over to me and took my hand before leading me upstairs. We walked into the bathroom where the tub was filled and candles were lit around the bathroom.

"Will you join me?" I asked as I turned around to face him.

"I was going to prepare dinner..."

"Dinner can wait. Join me."

"Ugh. I can't say 'no' to you." He said before undressing himself and got in the tub with me.

I sat between Dan's legs with my head resting against his chest while he was playing with my hair.

"When are we going to tell the kids you're pregnant?" Dan asked after a while.

"I don't know. I think they should be the first to know though." I answered while drawing patterns on Dan's thigh.

"Agreed."

We were interrupted by Dan's phone ringing on the floor next to the tub. He leaned over to check the caller ID before saying,

"He can wait."

"Who?" I asked curiously.

"Mark. I told them I'd be spending the night with you. So that's what I'll do." He answered before his hands found my neck and started massaging it.
