Danny's pov:
I had just brought Ava to her bed and said goodbye to her since we're leaving for America again tonight.
"Sweet dreams sweetheart." I whispered before leaning down to kiss her softly on her forehead. She mumbled something understandable in reply, already pretty much asleep. I stood up and walked out of her room, carefully closing the door behind me.
As I walked downstairs I found Am in the kitchen making tea.
"Have you packed everything for America?" She asked with her back still to me.
"Yeah."
"Am, where do we stand...?" I asked carefully.
She sighed before slowly turning around to face me.
"I don't know." She replied, her eyes meeting mine.
"I just need some time to think." She said rubbing her hand over her face.
"About?"
"Us. What else?"
"You mean you have to think if you want to continue with me or if you want to break up?" I whispered.
"Yes Danny, everything's so fucked up right now and who says you won't do it again?" She said while tears formed in her eyes.
"I won't do it again, I promise. And if I could go back in time I would've never done it. Amy please..." I said, trying to pull her close to me to wipe her tears away but she took a step back in return.
"These are just words Danny, you'll have to prove it."
"How?" I asked, willing to do everything to save our relationship.
"I don't know." She replied shrugging before she walked past me and disappeared upstairs.
I stood for a few moments thinking about what she just said before I followed her upstairs. I heard the shower running in the bathroom so I walked in and sat down on the edge of the bath.
"How do I need to prove it when you don't even know how?" I asked when we made eye contact through the glass door of the shower.
"I just don't know what I want, Danny. But could you just leave me now so I can have a shower, on my own." She replied slightly annoyed.
I just nodded in reply before standing up and leaving the bathroom again.
I sat down on the couch drinking the tea Am had made while waiting for the car to arrive and take me to the airport. Just as I heard Am come down the stairs the car pulled up outside so I stood up from the couch.
"The car's here." I said as Am walked into the living room. She nodded and let me pull her in for a hug. I was relieved when I felt her arms wrap around my waist as well, but I knew that I was nowhere near forgiven yet.
"I will fight for us, I promise." I said and cupped her face in my hands, looking into her eyes.
"I love you." I said before I leaned down and kissed her.
"I love you too." She whispered when I pulled away. I smiled softly before pecking her lips one more time.
I grabbed my suitcase and made my way to the car. I blew a kiss at Am when we drove off but she just waved quickly before going inside.

We were back in New York and I'd sent Katy a text asking her to come over. I was going to tell her that we couldn't see each other anymore and that I had done incredibly stupid things by cheating on Amy and leading her on. Even though I knew what I wanted to say I couldn't help but be nervous.
