~Chapter 83~

Danny's pov:

We've spent the whole day in the studio, getting a lot of work done for the new album. It was getting 11PM when we decided to call it a day, so we were turning all the computers off and put the guitars away before we wrapped ourselves up in our coats. It had been snowing last night so it's freezing cold outside! I put my coat on and wrapped my scarf around my neck before I said bye to all the guys and left the studio.

"Are you sure you don't want a lift?" Mark offered for the second time.

"No, I'm fine, thanks though." I replied.

I wanted to walk home to clear my head cause it was so full from all the lyrics and guitar riffs, and it wasn't that far to walk.

After a few minutes I regretted not taking my beanie with me this morning cause my ears were almost freezing off! I couldn't wait to get home and go to my warm bed to cuddle with Am, who's probably gone to bed by now, seeing as it's getting late.

I was walking past the Thames, close to the brick wall in between me and the water to steady myself because it was really slippery. I saw the London eye in the distance on the other side of the Thames, the red lights reflecting in the water.

Suddenly, I heard a car beeping behind me and I almost jumped in shock before turning around to see what it was. But before I could see who scared me, my feet slipped away and I lost my balance. I felt my head slamming against the brick wall before I lost consciousness.

Mark's pov:

I stepped in my car and started the engine, looking forward to getting to my warm house. When I was driving past the Thames I saw a tall lanky guy walking carefully, getting home. It was unmistakable Danny, so when I drove past him I pressed on the horn of the car to wave to him. I saw how he quickly turned his head towards the sound and I chuckled to myself. But as I drove further, I saw in my rearview mirror how he fell to the ground like a ton of bricks. I quickly stopped my car at the side of the road and got out. I carefully crossed the road, trying not to get hit by a car before I ran to him as quick as I could with the snow and ice.

"Danny?" I said, kneeling down next to him. There came no reply so I tried again,

"Dan?!" Slapping his cheek lightly trying to get him to open his eyes. Again, he didn't react. Suddenly I noticed that the snow around his head was bright red. It took me a few seconds to realize that it was his blood, coming from his head. The amount of red snow was growing quickly and I realized that I had to do something. Now! I ripped one of my gloves off my hand and filled it with snow. I tried to find the wound on his head without moving it, but that wasn't really easy because there was blood everywhere and I couldn't see where exactly it came from. Thank god I found it after a few seconds and I pressed my makeshift icepack against it. With my other hand I took my phone from my pocket and called an ambulance, telling them to hurry. They said that they would be here in a few minutes, but it every minute seemed to last an eternity.

Finally, after what felt like a lifetime I saw the ambulance arrive and two paramedics jumped out and ran towards me. They pushed me to the side and started helping him while a third paramedic came with a stretcher.

I stood there frozen to the spot in complete shock watching how they tied my best friend to a stretcher while desperately trying to stop his head from bleeding. Before I knew it he was in the ambulance and one of the paramedics came towards me to ask if I was okay, I could only nod my head, my eyes focused on the doors of the ambulance which were now closed. The paramedic told me to which hospital they were brining him and again I could only nod, not able to focus on what she was saying. She flashed me a small smile before she ran off to the ambulance and got in on the passengers side. I watched the ambulance speed of with screaming sirens and flashing lights.
